Has the Amusement arcade in Puerto Pollensa moved or closed downn for good.

It was with great regret that I noticed yesterday that the so-called Sports Bar is open again.

Good news on the amusement arcade though !

Depends on your point of view. It was well run, well regulated by the government regarding the fruit machines, clean and blended in with it's surroundings and with none of the sound pollution from big plasma tv screens or customers who were tending to have overdone the San Miguel falling about the pavement outside.
And rather a disappointment to the kids who enjoyed riding the horse, driving the postman pat car or hammering the moles on the wackamole machine. The big 'driving' videos were also well worth the odd euro.

The arcade brought a bit of harmless variety to the port. Whose getting excited about another restaurant? Certainly not the kids!

Initially i was against it, no problem with a amusement arcade, but slap bang in the middle of the front promenade? But must admit you barely noticed it after a while, it was pretty harmless, the kids obviously enjoyed it, but i'm sure they couldn't care less were it was situated, as long as they had somewhere to play.

Hi all,

We have had such fun over the years , usually on a cloudy or wet day , popping into the arcade for a game of air hockey which always turned into a tournament for 3, very competitive !!!. It became a tradition ,strange one I know, but we enjoyed it .Our son now 10, also my husband ,now 52 were sad to see it close down.

Regards Jat

It will save me a fortune from the Kids pester power and all the arguments and sulking when they were denied the euros to spend in there!!!

My daughter loved that horse, she'll have to make do with the one outside 1919,it was never overly intrusive, and we stay relatively close, over the Iru Restaurant

Having thought about this more, I mentioned it to my daughter (now 11) one of her clearest memories of PP 6 years ago is the whack a mole machine from the arcade. Then I remembered my son (now 17) used to always want to go in to play the air hockey with mum (cos she let him win, well that's her story!) whenever we went past during our first PP holidays some 12 years ago, in fact we became quite skilled at distraction tactics as we walked down from Llenaire each evening asking him to look out to seas for dolphins at that stretch. So I agree it's actually quite sad to see it go, sometimes us adults need reminding on different perspectives. Thanks to clinkham for reminding me.
