Just read on BBC that cloud may affect East Anglia on Friday. We are due to fly out from Stansted on Sunday. It's a worry!!

It sure is a worry Paul, but I read that most of England may be affected but not East Anglia. We are flying out on Monday from Standsted too, but first my sister has to get here from San Francisco due to arrive at Heathrow on FRIDAY, arghhhhhhh! She is treating my family to this holiday, it's going to be just terrible if we can't go or get delayed it's costing her a fortune.

Hope you are right, Ruthie! My wife (who is also a Ruth) spent hours arranging flights and accommodation for 15 of our family. Very difficult bringing it all together but she finally managed it, bless her. We have got everything crossed at the moment!

Latest from Easyjet, great news, speaking of news have you seen how fast the story has been dropped from the news already, doesn't help having the President in town!

"We can advise that easyJet met with the Civil Aviation Authority and United Kingdom Department for Transport (DfT) where we presented our own independent data on actual ash concentration in Scottish airspace on the 24th May which has been developed with industry experts in the year since the last Icelandic volcanic disruption.

Following that meeting the DfT issued a statement which in summary advised that “The volcano Grimsvötn has currently paused its eruptions and Met Office modelling indicates that significant disruption between now and the end of the weekend is unlikely,”

We are therefore pleased to advise that based on the current volcanic activity that further disruption to our flying programme is unlikely"

We're due to fly from Edinburgh on Sunday and there's a slight (?) risk that ash cloud could return by weekend, though not very likely.
As we're flying Ryanair, I'm hoping that Michael O'Leary will continue to fight for more appropriate flight restrictions - if necessary. See his outspoken comments in link below:

On the other hand, I hope he doesn't annoy the CAA so much that they ground him anyway!

Well I didn't want to post anything as it may tempt fate, been watching the reports for a few weeks now, lots of seismic activity again in Iceland, lots of lava flowing around, and it looks like the inevitable will happen and another volcano will erupt!
Hopefully this time will be different, before, the eruptions were a long way underground which released so much dust and debris into the air, with a more normal eruption not so much ash is released.
Anyway I expect we will be talking about this over the coming weeks as a lot of us look to grab the last of the summer sun over there, but fingers crossed they will not be the large disruption that there was last time.

Only problem is that it is a capital letter so I would challenge it (Am I taking this too seriously)
