Average prices for food and drink?

Hi guys!

Last year i went to Puerto Pollenca and loved it. We cant get anywhere within our budgit this yearso have decided to try Alcudia!

We are going all inclusive at the Hotel Platja d'Or however we will venture out a few nights for meals and drinks.

I understand the pound to euro conversion is quite apauling at the moment but i've been told that the decline in visitors have made bars and restaurants up their prices to compensate making it even more expensive for us Brits.

Can anyone confirm this and perhaps give an average 3 course meal price?

If anyone can recommend somewhere that offers great food at good value and also caters for vegetarians then speak up!

we were in pp begin of may, the pizza restaurant in the corner of the square near the church always does nice food and they had a 3course set meal for about 11euros. we ate there quite alot, they did nice vegi pancakes and mushroom risotto. i hope this helps.

please can you confirm whether you are asking about meals in Alcudia or Puerto Pollensa as I can see that you're staying in Alcudia.

In general really as i understand the prices will be more expensive given the exchange rate however i've heard people saying that the price in euro's has increased because of the drop in tourism so really looking for an idea of how much things will cost when I'm out there. It really just determines how much we eat and drink out as we're all inclusive.

I have found most places have not really increased prices in fact a lot of them have reduced them.
Lets not forget that Spain has also been badly affected by this crisis plus the severe winter weather has taken it's toll on the crops, so the cost of produce has increased.

Hard to post average prices because that depends on what you choose to eat and drink. Plenty of good value menu's available in both Ports. Sparky agree with you entirely, sometimes those in the UK think its only them affected but this credit crisis is affecting everyone.

You will find that whatever your budget there will always be somewhere to eat. Ok, you may not be able to go to the top end restaurants but if you look for menu of the day (menu del dia) you can have a three course meal for anything from 8€.

Note: It's often cheaper to have your main meal at lunchtime and a snack in the evening.

I'm not on a tight budgit as such but didnt want to spend over the odds while we are all includive. Knowing we can eat out a few nights for a good value will be good to know.

Anyone have any suggestions of places?
