Baby seats & on-site pick-up

Hi All,

We're re-visiting PP this year, but with new baby in tow (will be 5 months when we fly). Can anyone recommend a company with on-site pick-up, and with baby seats, as well as boosters for older children?

Some of the hire sites I've looked at only mention "child seats" which seem to be for bigger babies. So far only Hertz have specified "infant seats", but their prices seem to be WAY higher than the others. I don't mind paying a bit extra for safety, but surely there are others out there with the right equipment, too...?!

Hi Laura

When my son was a baby we took our own car seat with us. It really wasn't a hassle as you check it in with your cases and the airlines carry them free of charge. Also, you know exactly what you are getting.

Regarding on site hire firms, to the best of my knowledge Record, Europa Goldcar, Sixt and Auriga Crown are on site. I am sure Hertz are also on site but we have never used them.

Just been on the Record site and they offer both Child seats and booster seats to ISO standards for 3E/day up to a max 36E per booking

Also if you email them they are said to be giving a 10% discount to ppforum members. see the Record thread on this site:

You can read good and bad comments about Record on this site but I have used them several times, dread the queues (sometimes), sorry to see their petrol policy change to Full - Empty, dirty car said by some (but not my experience),

One plus is if you join their club you can build up discounts for next time.

Hope this gives a balanced view.
