took the plunge & booked for May/June 2010 half term with BA

23kgs luggage, free meal, online check in, & price certainty swung it over easyfret

they are doing lgw - pmi from £92 return, but £500 for 4 in 1/2 term week isn't bad ( especially after what we paid this year, leaving it late)


so now the waiting game re accommodation; we know where we want to stay, but may try & tough it out until the week before for 'make an offer' scenario

This year we managed to get a three bedroom villa in May for only £350 last minute since then I have kept an eye on villa prices and there are deals to be had, but looking at this week two of the companies only had availability in Cala d'or so it is a chance leaving until the week beforehand.

Good luck leaving it late, there's a lot of legal wrangling between villa owners and agents so the make an offer approach may fail

as BAst*rds have dropped the route, may now have other plans

incidentally, my wife picked up a brochure from a locally based villa firm yesterday. They said that if we were going this year, not to take too much notice of the price inserts, but to give them a ring...
