Balaixa will be opening on the 17th February.

The restaurant will be open Friday and Saturday nights for dinner and Sundays for lunch.

There will be a special winter a la carte menu, and also a fantastic set menu at 25.00 euros for 3 courses inclusive of wine.

Hurrah!

They will EVEN sort out us a yummy take away for my birthday IF we can't get a babysitter! Will try tho' cos we loved it there! Can't wait to see them- they're so accomodating.

I hope Balaixa is open, will be waiting outside on Friday 3rd March for the doors to open, and the Bacardi and Ginger to be served up. See you all soon
Keith ;)

Robjay! Not been there??!! You amaze me!!!
It is a must..... GO

I'm going to have to give Balaixa another go! We used to go there a lot before Mandy and Arnie took it over..always during the day and to be honest it was for the pool more than the food , although they did do very nice tapas especially the stuffed mussels:p

Have been a couple of times in Mandy and Arnie's early days (and my friend Sara had her 40th Birthday there), but we found the food unimaginative. Maybe this was 'teething problems' as so many say how much they love it

The jury's out till June when we'll give it another go..the trouble is when there are so many places you love you don't want to risk going somewhere you haven't enjoyed in the past.

For once this is a post I'm not a "know it all" in:rollin :rollin Sorry Penny but I will give it a go sometime this year I hope.
Debz I agree with you about too many good places and await your 14 in the Challange;)
Take care.

I will commence my 7 day challenge next wednesday

Keep it up Arnie and Mandy looking forward to another good year at the Balaixa

Re Balaixa

Most of you know we love this place. Went a couple of weeks ago for Sunday lunch and it was fab. They were trying a few new things out on the menu. I had choritzo and pemientos pedron to start, (wow) and spaghetti with shell fish and a touch of chilli for main. Absolutly great.
Sad news that Lily passed away in the winter, but a new small Great Dane has arrived, Frankie.

Re: Re Balaixa

Hi MB!

Small Great Dane?? Is there such a thing?:lol

It's great to see you posting again...your contributions have been missed.

My regards to Mrs MB and hope to talk soon!

Re: Re Balaixa

Hi Jane
The small great dane Frankie will I am sure grow to the size of Lily, just look at the size of her feet.
I am looking forward to going to Balaixa next week, just to check out Arnies new collection of reading glasses and his new wardrobe of shirts.
Maybe will meet some of you there
Good Eating
Keith

Re: Re Balaixa

Hi Keith, Arnie's glasses are a hoot. I think he said one of his customers left them accidently. They do make him look a little like he's been decorating the ceiling with a multi coloured spray paint gun

Re: Re Balaixa

Hi Mallorcaboy
Yes it was my wife who left them, he then has added to his collection of these glasses.
I hope she dosnt leave her dress behind otherwise he will be wearing that.
Arnie is a very lucky man, he will tell you the same.
Regards Keith

Re: Re Balaixa
