Balearics Tax

I have head of this new tax system, when I say new it should be at least a year old now as, they were going to implement it in 2002.

The idea being you would have to pay a small fee per day in the hotel that you are staying in.

Does any one have information on this please :hat

Tourist Tax

We have just had elections and the winning party has pledged to abolish the Tourist Tax. When, or if it has already been abolished I don't know.

we have just returned from a fortnight and tax is still being charged. Eco tax as ist is known. It`s a few euros per person per night.

we returned home on 12/06/03 and stayed in apts, we were not asked to pay the tax this year.
