Forgive me, but I see that a member called "Peter" has been "banned". Someone did ask why, and you replied without giving a reason, closing the post involved.

Now excuse me for saying so, but I saw nothing unusual in "Peter's" posts that I have read, so I can't help asking why this individual has been "banned"?

This is a truly excellent site, that you run really well, and offers a really good forum for the exchange of ideas and information, but I am slightly unsettled by censorship without apparent justification.

Could we perhaps be permitted to share in your observations that led to this position?

right boss, i agree with dis, life is boring, you got an argument lets go for it, whats upset you? or do you not wish to discuss it? gpm

I hope Pollensa doesn't mind me answering, but only the posts that were of relevance to the forum from Peter appeared on the board. Unfortunately there were many that did not. I don't think this is the place to go into the whys and wherefores of why someone has been banned. Believe me, it's a decision that is not taken lightly.

Pollensa runs this forum to help people make the most out of their time in the resort, whether they are there for a holiday or whether they are emigrating and need information. The discussion forum is provided free of charge and I think the least that we can all do is respect the rules of the forum and help to make the place as helpful as possible to members.

He must have been a really naughty boy:eek::eek:

Best all mind our P&Qs:D

c,mon, who read it, tell us what the big deal is? or send me a private message.I promise not to tell anybody else. gpm

Thank you Jane.

I can only reinterate what she has already said. If we have had to resort to banning a member, we have had a very good reason for doing so. Members have not seen the posts that were made, the subsequent scores of abusive and threatening emails and messages that have been received nor been aware of the dishonest methods employed in attempts to access the forum.

I have no doubts at all that we have taken the right action and it involves a lot more than not 'minding your P&Qs'.

I really would like to draw a line under the episode and hope that we can now move on and enjoy the forum.

Thank you very much for your co-operation and support.

sorry, didn,t realise it was serious.i will now shut up. gpm

Pollensa,
For your future reference, this type of behaviour is an offence under section
4a of the Public Order Act 1986 and carries a maximum penalty of a £2500 fine and/or 6 months imprisonment. It is no trivial matter in the eyes of the law.

Pollensa and Jane - obviously 'minding your Ps & Qs' was tongue in cheek and it was obvious that 'Peter' had been very naughty.

However it is still relevant as we should all be mindful of the fact that everybody has differing views on subjects and that it is all to easy to upset or annoy someone on the forum. Minding your Ps & Qs in general should be something that all of us bear in mind, all the time.

Was Peter not the one and same Big Pete who had been banned some months ago?

Apologies guys but I am now closing this thread as I really do not want to publicise this issue any more and hope that you understand why.

Thanks very much for your understanding and co-operation,

Webmaster.
