Jane dont think its heated at all just opinions.
Jane actually took the words from my mouth & said "BEFORE it gets heated".

So carry on guys & continue posting about the bars including Bonys, bar prices etc. but do respect each other's opinions.

On a personal note, we tried the Orange Bar last weekend - pleasant setting, lovely Margaritas but they cost 7.20 EUR each & not a free peanut in sight! Makes the lunch time Menu del Dia with wine etc. an absolute bargain!

But we couldn't think of anywhere else to go. So can anyone else suggest good places for a pre-evening meal drink given that it was about 8:30 pm & a lot of places, especially along the front, were serving full meals.

I think what happens on this forum is that some people want to convince others that thier opinion is the "correct" one to have .Just like restaurant reviews we have all have different preferences as to what we want to get out out of our dinning experiences.

If you don't like a place just dont go back, equally, tell us what it is that put you off . Bony's I like ,not every night and despite my misgivings about theme bars I did enjoy the couple of hours that I spent in one of the Irish bars listening to "Elvis".As far as I am concerned variety is the spice of life.

As far as having a drink before dinner I do enjoy walking along the I'll Ador (not correct spelling) as the views are something special.Again not cheap but all the places along the sea are that wee bit more expensive. Or The club Nautic ?

Cheers

Scotty Lady;)

Now why did'nt I think of that !

Thank you Wyevale!;)

We also like the Daina in the evening - I have some very fond memories of sitting there with my daughter when she was 2 and I have a lovely photo of her posing in one of the chairs. It's a great place to people watch.

We tried Sutton's last year as well - very good! They mixed me a delicious Campari and lemonade.:p

As for the signs they been going up for years once again just a bit of fun. What about T Mex, what about other places come on people go on holiday to enjoy yes it not Mallorcan but tell me in PP what is true Mallorcan Only and not catering for tourist.

Thanks for making the comparison that I refrained from doing Snowy. One is a hard-nosed succesful businessman who provides a service to his customers whilst the other is......

I find it hypocritical that the tex mex guy is derided on this website whilst the Bony guy is treated like some favourite uncle.

Neptuno? Bar Juanito?

Well said Jane. Personally I find Bonys a really nice venue for lunch in the early or late season, when Jose has a little bit more time (to encourage me with my Spanish!) and the place isn't bursting with boozing Brits!

But I can see the attraction in the season for folk who are more sociable than me.

The great thing about PP (and long may it continue) is that there is pretty well something for everyone. Some people don't like to eat "foreign food"......I don't see the point of travelling all that way for an English fry up.

Let's celebrate diversity!

Actually, I thought that the original comments in this thread, about comparative bar prices was really interesting as I'd never really thought about it. "We're on holiday - hang the cost!" There were some very useful pointers in there. I wouldn't have expected the Daina (where we stay once or twice a year) to be so competitive. You live and learn!

I might have said before but I like to have a pre-dinner drink at the Miramar Hotel.

It's a nice setting right on the seafront watching all those heading out to dinner. The service is friendly and you are not rushed to leave. Oh and as shown at the start of this thread I discovered upon return this year that the prices were very reasonable.

Hi Lala,

have just looked back to your first post & have seen how competitive the Miramar is. So as requested above let's now try & keep this post on bar prices & if anyone can add to the feedback on prices for coke, beer, G&T etc. please do add it here. Thanks. :)
