Simbad/touting

I've never been in there - always looks too busy, but someone told me (a few years ago, admittedly) that he had the best meal of his holiday there, better than Los Faroles, Ca'n Pacienci, Brisas Marinas, amongst others. Sometimes it is a matter of luck but I won't be eating there this year in view of the preponderantly adverse comment. Not much use reading these threads if you're not going to take any notice of them.

As for the touting. Am I the only one that is almost always invited to enter the Chinese restaurant on the corner of Carretera. de Formentor/Juan XV111, near the Hibiscus, when I pass by in the evening? It is not aggressive but it has gone on for years.

In the 6 years we have been going to PP i can honestly say we have never had a bad meal / experience in Simbads.

We have, over the years, tried their breakfast, lunch and evening meals and all have been first class. I am particularly fussy when it comes to my food and not easily pleased!

In comparision to some of the other restuarants in the port I don't think it is overpriced either and after 8pm most evenings you haven't a hope of getting a seat.

On the downside it does look more like a cafe than a restaurant and the novelty of the tlking bird wears off after 30 seconds!

Part of the reason Simbads seems busy most of the time is that a breakfast & evening meal package is offered in rental accommodation owned by family & friends

Simbads is near the Macdonalds Burger Bar a few doors down

Maria makes Sinbads. She (Usualy) knows what she can get away with regarding the odd " touch " poke in the ear, ruffle the hair etc. She tries to be friendly. I have always enjoyed the food there and never thought it too expensive. Also she will always find you a seat even if it means moving other people about to get you in. It is more like a cafe than a restaurant, but Aaaaaaaaaaaaay! when she gives me those little touches.. Well I may be biased.
