Hi. Would like to find out if its possible to rent somewhere to store 2 road bikes when we are back home. We go cycling in Majorca a lot and would save us the hassle of taking them out every time or renting. Thanks, all suggestions welcome.

Hi Foxyirish

Just back from PP we have had to store our mountainbikes outside this winter. I spent a morning trying to get our bikes back to road worthy condition. This was time off bike wasted:(
If we knew of a place that did what you are asking about we would use it too.

The theft of bikes and bike parts is a big problem not just in PP but over the whole island. A common trick is to paint the stollen bike in an attempt to hide it! have you noticed the bikes that look like they have been painted with Dulux Matt in total darkness?

If I hear of anywhere I will post the details.

Just a suggestion. There are many apartments which have garages. I know of at least 2 blocks in Pinaret. I wonder if any of these may be available for rent? I know Pedro Mesquida were selling some at one time but they are not around anymore. Perhaps another agent may be able to assist?

We touched on this before didn't we regarding suitcases. I think the same problem would apply really i.e. insurance problems. And even if it was rented privately, can you imagin the upset and problem if a garage was broken into and the bike/s stolen? It would definately need an agent to take it on; provide good locks and charge for insurance etc. A problem definately, I'm sure someone can think outside the box on this one!

What about the bike rental places, seems an obvious solution, they are set up for storage, I am sure for a fee they would store them for you, or combine it with a winter service and prep so its all ready for when you go over

The bike rental places sound good. Will look into it when we are over in April. Cant wait to get back. To feel the sun on your back again.... aahhh heaven. Thanks for all your help.

Since posting this thread we have discovered that 2 of our mountain bikes have been stollen.
I have posted else where on the forum in the hope that more people will read the thread

Friends have recently phoned to say the rear wheels of both our bikes have been stolen.:(
