Bonanca Bar

Got a quick tour of the new place this morning, Jaco, who,s dad owns the Neptuno has bought the place with a partner and they have knocked the whole interior down and are rebuilding it with new bar, kitchen and toilets, he told me they are also refurbishing the outside pool area and putting new chairs, tables ect. Should be some place when its finished, which he hopes will be just after easter. GPM

Brilliant news Gpm.....Hubby was going to miss the old place for stopping off for one last night-cap before heading home .....will look forward to trying the NEW place ...hope it all goes well and up and running for early May!!

Great news for that end of town. Although we are going to be staying at La Golletta in May/June we have frequented Neptuno regularily over the years. Looking forward to a good stretch of leg along the sea front to have a nosey at the new Bonanca.

... Which, just by co-incidence, is when I'm due out for the first time this year. Can't wait to see what they've done to the place.

Working just about 7 days a week up 'til then - So counting the days!

Has anyone ventured down that way recently to see if the Bonanca Bar has reopened as planned? We are out for May half term and the kids have been asking about it. I have to say the pool used to be rather cold for me in May in previous years but the kids don't seem to mind!! Any news would be greatly appreciated.

Dont like to disappoint but we were over at Easter and it was nowhere near ready ................. the place has been gutted , it was just a shell .......... looks as though they are doing a good thorough job on it but I would be suprised if it was finished for end May especially when you consider how long some of the building / conversions take ...... think about Casinet and just look at Tango ..... 3 years !!!!

You never know! I remember, about 10 years ago, they gutted the whole front of the Miramar Hotel, we were there end of Feb and it was a shell, when we came back, the end of May i was totally finished, and that was a hotel. I'm sure the bulk of return visitors were unaware the work had been done.

Have not ventured that far up recently but they have an ad in the new "Holiday Handbook" it is called "Laguna".

Old Bonanca Bar Restaurant

We saw Jacob just over a week ago and he told us that it should be 2 to 3 weeks before the opening of the bar. He confirmed that he was installing a much larger kitchen in the place so that should make it even better when it opens
I will have another look over half term hols and report back.
