Cabrera - place to visit

when we are in majorca in setember we are hoping to visit the island of cabrera. In my majorca guide it gives good info. about the island and what we can expect to see. However it also says that there is little in the way of refreshment and suggests taking a picnic. My guide book ( AA explorer ) was published in 1998 so I wonder whether any one has any update info. on this island..
P.S. I did raise a query on this subject a while back but I've forgotten the reply! Thats what age does to you!!!8)

i'll have a look in my rough guide when i go home bee and let you know if there's anything in there... as you know it's a 2005 eddition so should be well up to date

I found this interesting page www.mallorcaweb.com/sonderberichte/natural-areas/cabrera/ but it mentions nothing about cafes etc. so I think a picnic is still probably needed. Anyone else been?

thank you pollensa for the web site ,made interesting reading. Husband has an interest in anything military so the memorial to the french prisoners will appeal to him
