Dropped into 1919 last week for one of their legendary Club sandwiches and fries and was surprised to see that their frontage has increased to take in what was previously the Estate Agent next door.

This has all been fitted out as a smart Restaurant space, so more options for different eating experiences.

Its not got any cheaper, a couple of snack lunches, plus a beer and glass of vino....54 euros. It wasn't putting anyone off though, as there was a queue for tables.

I hope the service has improved, I’ve always found it very slow.

I was mega pleased to see Cafe Pascal Velo still open for a naughty Croque Monsieur - they're going away on the 15th Jan so get in while you can.

I popped into 1919 last week for one of their classic club sandwiches and fries and was a bit taken aback to see how much bigger the place has become. They’ve taken over the old estate agent next door and turned it into a really smart restaurant area, which definitely gives them more flexibility depending on what kind of meal you’re after. Prices haven’t exactly gone down though. Two light lunches, a beer, and a glass of wine came to about 54 euros. That said, it clearly hasn’t hurt them, as there was still a queue for tables and a lively buzz throughout.
