Cala San Vicente Festival August 2019

The Cala San Vicente Summer festival kicks off next week.
Here are just a few of the interesting events happening there:- (hopefully corrected now!)

Friday 16th August 2019
20.00hrs: Procession with Giants and Bigheads Esbart de Sant Jordi. Leaves from Cala Barques & ending up by the old church. 21.00: Trempó and jazz. Music from Springtime Jam band. Trempó salad plus bread, wine, water, melon and ice-cream. Cala. Temporal. Ten euros; tickets available from the pharmacy or Bar Mallorca.

Saturday 17th August 2019
From 17.00hrs: Rock bands Mythical Rockfest until three in the morning. Food trucks, children's zone, vinyl market. Cala Molins.

Sunday 18th August 2019
21.30hrs: Havaneres songs. Cala Molins. 24.00: Fireworks from El Maressar (the point above Cala Molins).

Thanks very much Waterboy. If you have spotted a programme in English somewhere, please post it here as there is a lot more happening during the festival in Cala San Vicente but my knowledge of the Mallorcan language is virtually nil.

Sunday 11
19:30 hrs – In Cala Molins – ‘Aires de la Cala’ demonstration of folk dancing
20:30 hrs – Photographic exhibition in the Hotel Molins lounge area. Guillem Bestard and Cala San Vicente
Wednesday 14
18:00 hrs – In Cala Molins kite flying of the children. Make your own kite and learn how to fly it
18:00 hrs – Art, music, ceramic and painting exhibition near the old church
Thursday 15
17:00 hrs – In Cala Molins a Water Party for children with the old fire engine. Come in your swim wear and have fun!
Friday 16
20:00 hrs – Starting from Cala Barques the Giants and Big Heads parade around some streets in the resort accompanied by the local bagpipes
21:30 hrs – At the old church ‘jazz preformed by Springtime Jam with supper of trempo, bread, wine, water, melon, cake and ice-cream. Price €10 and tickets can be purchased from Bar Mallorca (opposite Cala Molins) or the local Farmacia (the chemist opposite the hotel Don Pedro).
Saturday 17
20:00 hrs – Local band of drums and trumpets parade around the town starting at Cala Molins
21:00 hrs – Live rock music festival with the bands Montenegro, Roulotte and Old Noise at Cala Molins
Sunday 18
16:30 hrs – The 5th Chess tournament in the Hotel Oriola
21:30 hrs - IX Habaneras (originated from Cuban sea shanties) performed by groups Arpellots and Sac I Ganxo
24:00 hrs – Firework display to end the fiestas near Cala Molins
