I think you will find that Can Andreu closes on a Monday. Was very vibrant last week when I visited.

Miriam, glad you enjoyed your meal. C'an Andreu do close on Mondays, the rest of the week they are very busy and although i have not had a meal there yet, i have not heard any bad reports. Not sure if it's up for sale but most places seem to be at the moment

I do not hope it is not up for sale. We ate there in April and it was one of the best meals that we had. Good food, excellent service and a real local feel.

I hope not too, cos we haven't made it there yet and its on the to do list after all the good reports I've read here !

Miriam

Be reassured, they are not up for sale. There is a 'se vende' sign in the window but this relates to a flat in Sa Pobla, not the restaurant! They are very much open for business, and the menu del dia is worth every penny. They are always busy, but you never feel rushed.

SORRRRRRRRRRRY PEOPLES !!!!!!!!!!! :o
And huge apologies to Ca'n Andreu !

I promise to wear my glasses and to read things properly in future !

Miriam

Amazed that Sparky not had a meal at Can Andreu !! Do so it is excellent value at 18 euro with a good choice and not the same boring main courses. The chef apparantly was from Stay and "Rose" (the thin skinny minnie) ran another restauarant on the back road. During the winter I was there on my own and the only customer but they looked after me still for the 18 euro.

....for my 'sin':o

Had our first dinner at C'an Andreu. 40 euros - my MdD @ 18 euros ( I had a main course of something begining with O...obuccus??? and if its baby anything, please dont tell me ! ) it was lovely and soooooooo tender. Included was water and a FULL bottle of wine !
Husband was happy.. he could have his faves... prawn cocktail and sirlion steak well done. I was a bit concerned when he said the prawns were warm (we have all had it... prawns just outa the microwave)...so I tried one. I'm pretty sure these prawns were warm cos they were FRESH & JUST COOKED ! His sirlion was the best he has had here !

Has to be one of the best all rounders - location, quality, value and service.

We will be back :D

Hi Miriam, glad you had a good meal, i think you had "Ossobuco", i found a Delia recipe on line. It is shin of veal in white wins and tomatoes. It was lovely meeting you yesterday, may see you in C'an Andreu one day.;)
