Car Hire at palma airport

ASny suggestions? Which companies are at airport?? Dont want to get a bus to and from car hire. Is Avis there???

Do a search. 8 companies based at the airport and yes Avis are one of them but IMO expensive but new'ish cars and good service (generally) .... lots of agents - particularly on the internet - have deals with the local firms and it is often cheaper to book via an agency than going direct to the likes of Avis, Hertz, Europacar etc.

I have booked a group B car with Avis for Easter and they were offering really good rates better than Holiday Autos, so always worth looking sometimes the big operators just happen to have a really good deal.

You've done well Romanb. Did you get a discount voucher? I've just done a search with Avis for our week in May and they're quoting almost double the price of 'DoYouSpain' or 'Holiday Autos'

Have booked same again great van loads of room for us I will give you a lift as long as you don't sing Postman Pat out of tune.

When we were given an off site company for a hire car I emailed and requested on site and got it swapped at no extra charge. That was with DoYouSpain. I did tell them that I would cancel if they didn't swap to an on site company so it worked, but then we got Record which is another very long story just like the wait at their desk...

I did not have a voucher but I have checked and as Ryansclan has said Avis in May is more expensive. I have booked a group B car for 5 days in April, in May it is £130.00 more expensive than we have paid, I guess we just got lucky. I always check all the main suppliers and holiday autos and go with the best offer for on site on this occasion it was Avis. When we used holiday autos (only once) I did call and managed to get car hire company that was on site.

Car Hire

We used Europcar this time - thanks for the tip Belladonna - and it worked perfectly.

No big queue at the desk in the airport. We didn't opt for the additional insurance as that was a rather costly 15 euros per day extra. A damage deposit of 160 euros was taken at the time but not charged to my credit card when we returned the car full of fuel and undamaged. The car was sparkling clean and had hardly any kilometres on it - and all safety equipment was provided in it too.

And a confirmation invoice was sent to my email account the day we got home for 237.32 euros - not bad for 12 days hire during the Easter hols.

Hopefully here is a photo of all the hire car companies who keep their cars on site at Palma airport.

booked the other day by speaking to a broker, rather than on line, after Carjet could not confirm vehicle choice due to demand ( May 29)

he said that availability was getting tight, so message is book early
they were veryhelpful -gave me various 'live' options from their system, rather than me getting multiple quotes online
