Does anyone have any information or contact details for Celebrants or Humanists who can carry out a Wedding Blessing in the Puerto Pollensa area? We recently had to change our plans as the Church we'd booked is no longer available, so are thinking of having a ceremony on a terrace on the Pine Walk, have emailed Miramar, Capri, Illa Dor & Sis Pins to find out if they would allow us to use their terrace for approx an hour to carry out the ceremony and what the cost would be, anyone with any info on this I would be grateful!(we only require it for an hour or so for the actual ceremony not the reception as having this at a Villa nearby).

Michelle,
It may be different in the Anglican Church but the church of Scotland allows ministers to marry couples in hotels, it could be worth asking Rev Waller if the Anglican church would permit this in PP.

Hello Michelle
As directed by prev reply. I would encourage you to call Irene Caldwell wedding cordinator for the anglican church I an sure she would be able to help.

Could you not also have your ceremony at the villa, especially if it has a nice garden.

Hi, we are having the legal bit in the UK beforehand so it's just a Wedding Blessing we require so doesn't have to be minister. Pennyarcade, I've been dealing with Irene for a few months now it's actually Irene who booked our wedding in St Andrews Church but that unfortunately is now not unavailable(no fault of Irenes)and we're currently waiting on a refund from the Anglican Church so would rather just book a Celebrant or a Humanist who can perform the blessing. Lollipop I think that's what we're going to do after receiving a few replies from Miramar and Sis Pins who can't hire their terrace out, the villa would be an option but we wanted some beach pics! :)

I saw in the TOTN and/or other papers that the Anglicans had been asked to find alternative place to conduct services by the Catholic Church.

It was suggested it was because the new Pastor? was in a civil partnership and therefore incompatible with them.

Sorry ...... just spotted other thread about this

Whilst in PP in the summer I saw a wedding taking place on the far end of South beach, near where the picnic tables are located. They had draped white fabric and flowers over each side of the entrance wall onto the beach. It did look very romantic under the trees looking out to sea. I am not sure if you have to get permission.

Hi Barwin, as far as I know(from research online)there is no need to get permission as long as we don't try and close off any part of the beach to make it private. The blessing isn't too long, approx 20-30 mins, so we're thinking of having it under a nice wedding arch in the sand with our guests standing for the ceremony. I think south beach is the widest section of beach and least likely to be packed at the end of September?

Hi Michelle

We're in the same boat with the church :( have you found a celebrant yet? please do let me know if so as we're struggling to find someone x

Why not ask the Anglican Church if they can supply a vicar, its only the church they have lost and I know the previous vicars have conducted services in hotels etc.

We found a woman named Glynis who had previously conducted ceremonies in majorca(a google search brought up her website think she is a humanist)who quoted us 400 euros but unfortunately she hasn't been back in touch since I last emailed so I contacted Irene from the Anglican Church who said a priest would be happy to perform the blessing at our villa and we're going to go ahead and organise this x
