Reading the alcudia blog I would say that Andrew is one of Bradleys biggest fans

Great bloke, great athlete, deserves every accolade that comes his way. It's the hype I can't take, Mark, and nor, it seems, does Bradley. It was brought home one evening in the summer when I had been waiting around outside Tolos with guys from the Ultima Hora newspaper. I won't go into it all, but it was a charade. When Bradley bluntly said "no press" and turned his back, I didn't blame him for one moment, and I was supposed to be part of that press. Let's just be hugely grateful that he trains locally and gives the area such a great profile, that he loves PP so much he wants to buy a place, and then leave him be.

On our last visit we saw Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen at the airport when we left.My wife said that she was sure that she also saw him on a boat in the marina at PP.I wonder if she was right?

Sorry, Have to disagree, like most of the other recipients, he was just doing his day job. The honours system is an expensive waste of money and never really honours those that truly deserve credit.

Danny Boyle got it right and comes out of this looking more honorable than any of them.

Saw the Sky team around the port often, the team car seemed to spend lots of 'long lunches' in cafe 1919 at the roundabout. While we were walking to Alcudia we saw Bradley come past we think, lots of ginger hair! Later we saw a motorbike with a camera man on the back so we guessed something was happening, suddenly the whole team swept by with cars in front and behind, may have been filming for the new Sky show again.

TROFEO ALCUDIA IBEROSTAR CYCLING CHALLENGE. 6 February. Wiggo, Froome and Team Sky take part. Starts around 11am from Avenida Principes España (by the Can Ramis town hall/tourist office building). Goes to Can Pic into the mountains back down through Sa Pobla towards Muro then into Playa de Muro, finishing by Hotel Playa de Muro around 15.30.

Back home after ghastly journey yesterday !! When we flew out last week , Dani King, Joanna Rowshell and Llaura Trott were on our plane going out to Alcudia for winter training. Three gold medallists on one plane not bad !! Very nice bunch of girls, they told us they are in training for the World Championships in Belorussia. They also confirmed Vanity Golf is now the base for all the cyclists

I don't get the comment on honours. Our sports people work themselves into the ground to acheive and frankly when succesful , if they don't deserve honours I don't know who does. Its the civil servants that get them for simply doing their day job who should be left out !!!

The Daily Bulletin interviews Sir Bradley Wiggins. “Majorca is like a second home for me...”
Palma.—Bradley Wiggins, who flew back to England last night for a weekend break with his family before returning to Majorca to compete with TeamSky in the Tour of Majorca which starts in Palma next weekend, said at the Sky training camp in Alcudia on Thursday evening that Majorca is his second home. “This year was my tenth consecutive January here and this was also the tenth time I’ve spent the Spanish Christmas, the Three Kings on the island as well. “I’ve got an apartment down the road (in the Port of Pollensa) and I come out with the family every half term and summer holiday apart from the annual winter training camps we have here. “So, I guess I nearly spend half of the year here. “I came here to celebrate winning the Tour de France, that’s when I got photographed enjoying a pint and having a fag,” he joked. “But, from a professional point of view, it’s a great place to have a training base. “It’s easy for all of the team whether they live in the UK or elsewhere in Europe to get down here. But, we’ve been using the island for so many years now, the team directors and the cyclists know all the roads which this time of year are pretty quiet. “What is more, the varying terrain, from the flat to the mountains really enables us to get some serious training in and that is what this camp is all about,” Wiggins said.
And, it was at the training camp in Alcudia before Christmas, on December 15 to be precise, that Bradley and his team captains agreed that this year he would go for the Giro d’Italia while team mate Chris Froome would lead Team Sky in the Tour de France.
Bradley admitted that it is very unusual for a Tour de France champion not to return the following year to defend his title but explained that the team has pretty much made its decision and now everyone knows what their targets and challenges are for the coming season which for Bradley starts here in Majorca a week on Sunday. “Initially for me I strived for what seemed like a very long time, but in fact it was only four years since Ijoined the team, to win the Tour de France. So it was always about winning, not about winning one and then a second and a third, it was about winning the first and we’ve done that. “So after the Olympics I had a lot of thinking to do and there are a lot of other things in this sport that I would love to do and the Tour of Italy is always something I’ve always wanted to go back to but, because we were committed to winning the Tour de France and with the Giro always coming before it, it was always crossed off, but now that’s all changed and having won the Tour I am able to try and win the Tour of Italy which I’d love to do after having put in such a poor performance back in 2010 and have that on my wall as well. “So that is why I got back into training pretty much straight after the Olympics in order to be ready for Italy in May,” Bradley said. “In fact, within just a few days after the Olympics I told my wife I’d love to win the Tour of Italy and that is what I am going to try and do this year.”.

Thanks Lollipop, scrolled back as you suggested. Good to see that the well heeled and famous want to spend their money on PP and surrounding areas!!!! I was just tryng to find out if their had bween other celebrities other than "Bradley Wiggins"

Bradley Wiggins was doing his day job too and he has the opportunity to make a lot more money on the back of his medals. I know many people who work themselves into the ground only to get kicked in the teeth by the government.

The honours system is a farce, civil servants, pop stars, actors, none of them deserve it when you consider someone like Camila Batmanghelidjh who works with underpriveledged children appears to have been overlooked. That said she may have been offered one and done the honourable thing and turned it down!

I wouldn't have known but today at lunchtime saw Denise Welch, (of "Loose Women" fame according to the missus who pointed her out - honest!) with her entourage at the Tex Mex on the prom near Capri bar.
