So Happy they have found a new home but still saddened by the fact that they are still not sharing the Church this arrangement was one of the few in the world were 2 separate religions shared the same place of worship and got on so well its a sad end and an indictment to the society in which we live shame

This letter was published in yesterday's (Friday 18th October 2013) Majorca Daily Bulletin:-

Dear Sir,

I have been banned by our Chaplain, the Revd. David Waller, from “participating in any liturgical activity in church for the foreseeable future”. This is stated in a letter dated the 16 October 2013. But it expresses the hope that I may again be able to serve at the altar of St. Andrews should there be a “working agreement negotiated between us in the next few months”.

Therefore in my 86th year, 52nd year of Priesthood and 27th year of service in St. Andrews I am not able to celebrate the Holy Communion, read Lessons, preach or be part of the Prayer Ministry. Celebrating the Thursday Holy Communion is also banned.

I will not be permitted to celebrate blessings on a marriage or renewal of marriage vows. Nor minister to grief in funeral services. Celebrating HC in homes of infirm old friends in the Residencias is no longer possible. When visiting hospitals I am excluded from bringing the liturgical prayers of the church. I contest this discipline on the grounds I have not been told the reason for it.

“I am to be welcomed as a member of the congregation as I see fit” but because I sing in the RC Parochial Church choir in Pollensa, this is where Maryrose and I will worship in the foreseeable future. We will miss you with sadness as also the very many Christian friends who worship with us.

Through the years since I pioneered this residential chaplaincy of St. Andrews in 1986, thousands of visitors have been ministered to by our small congregation as well as the local community, in the Roman Catholic church in Puerto Pollensa.

Seems to me that there is more to this whole saga than meets the eye, as I said in an earlier post.....I think it's all very unchristian .

Very sad, at the services I have attended Revd. Roy seemed to be very popular with the congregation, I am sure last year after the service they held a small birthday party for his 85th birthday.

I do think it is dangerous to make judgement when the facts are not completely known. There is always two sides to a story. It is time for people to move on and accept that there has to be changes. As for the Rev Roy maybe he is not completely blameless. I hope the committee and congregation get the support they deserve.

Big Church meeting in Pollensa

Pollensa.—The Committee of the Anglican Church in Puerto Pollensa are organising a Big Planning Meeting for the Church on Saturday, 15 March, between 10.00 am and 3.00 pm (with a break for lunch).
It will be held in Salon 4 (upstairs)in The Cultural Centre (old School) in Puerto Pollensa.
It is hoped that the meeting will give members of the community and organisations outside the Church a chance to be involved in the next stage in the development and growth of the Anglican Community Church in Puerto Pollensa with regard to a number of areas:


1. The Building.
2. Prayer & Worship
3. Fund Raising
4. Community Support & Outreach
5. Social Functions
6. Holidaymaking Families (Children and Young People)
