Hi
Looking for some comfort food
Any suggestions for a decent roast chicken & chips or omelettes

Thanks

Hi Snowy

Where is the greasy spoon?
Thanks

Casa Manolo take away (just off the square), do lovely rotisserie chickens, as well as home made pie and flans. Their tortillas are home made and in 3 different flavours, Spanish omelette plain, with onion or with bacon. There is also a selection of tapas. You can have anything served with chips or salad.

You can order in the take away and ask to eat it across the road in Casa Manolos bar. They will carry across on plates, provide the cutlery etc. and you pay for it at the end with your drinks in the bar, excellent food and service. They do have a paper takeaway menu.

Their opening hours are morning till 15:30 in the afternoon and 18:30 till 02:00 (this is what the chef told us!). If this is correct could be a good option for people arriving late and wanting something to eat.

I highly recommend it;)

The Golden Lion is very good ;).

The Golden lion definitly for the spit-roast chicken.
Though not mad about their chips ...

Always enjoy the omelettes in Tolo's.
(Think there's chips on the side iirc)

We have had pies, quiche and chicken to take away from Casa Manolo, all were very good and as Whaley said you can eat it at Bar Manolo but they do also have a few of their own tables outside :D.

Pepes was always our choice, not sure where we will go now

Ca'n Ferra? Not sure if they do chicken but they have lots of lovely fish/seafood options with chips. Stay also do a nice grilled garlicky chicken breast with chips on their snack menu (though their chips aren't the best). La Vall often have a 1/2 chicken with lovely homemade chips as part of their set menu.

Wholeheartedly agree about Casa Manolo ...the vegetable tart is absolutely gorgeous and the empanadas are good too..and as Whaleywanderer said you can take away, eat ouside or across the road at the bar
