I am very sorry to read this Paul and do wish you would reconsider as some of us would have liked to know if you got the help you needed.

However as is the case with any forum it is impossible to screen every post, we do our best but unfortunately we cannot be online 24hrs a day.

Paul this is sad to read. I am so sorry that you have been put off. Please believe me that there are so many charming people who are delighted to help and are generally interested in hearing comments and reading posts from members regarding anything to do with Pollensa. It is truly upsetting to all of us who try to do our best that the minority have caused such upset. You will note by the posts of others that we consider what has happened to you to be unacceptable behaviour.

I hope very much that you enjoy your holiday in PP and all works out for you with your plans. I also hope that you feel with the passage of time that you can come back and tell us about your holiday. Many of us would welcome very much. Good luck.

I have become more and more concerned as i have read through this thread. People have started to refer to the rudeness of certain posters towards Percypop. Can we get this back into perspective. It was not poster's, it was one poster. That is not to excuse it in any way but it was starting to read like the world and his wife were having a go. Perhaps pollensa could remind us how many members this site has because the way this is coming across is like there are a bunch of keyboard warriors just waiting to get stuck in to people. A quick read through many of the threads will show this not to be the case. Okay I'm off my soapbox and just going to lie down in a dark room with a damp towell on my head

Don't be put off of posting. Give it another go and you'll see i give a far better quality of insult ( and yes I'm joking ) Before anyone comments.

Point taken Pollensafan but I think in percypop's mind that poster represented us as a whole! If that were not the case then he wouldn't have decided to not post further.

I think anyone reading through would appreciate that the world and his wife were not having a go but for any potential newbies it should be recognised that this is not acceptable behaviour and we are not all out to grab. That is what I was trying to get over in my post that a majority should not be found guilty because of the actions of the minority.

Hi Pollensafan, i think the reason some are referring to "posters" is because we also had another member being rather rude to a newbie on the "Bars and Restaurants" section.
In regard to your point about statistics, have a look at the bottom of the main page at Pollensa Forum Statistics , we currently have 304 active members .

I would have thought by the reaction the post got it was obvious it was not acceptable. A point I made in my post. If percypop thinks we are all like that then I find it strange that he thanked folk for their help

Ok to remind you we have over 4000 members of whom over 300 are active i.e. visiting in the last month. I really don't want this thread to run into a general discussion as it was primarily a request from someone who is probably new to Forums (Fora?) & other Social Media who asked about the possibility of a chef for his villa.

The original request came via Email and for a lot of people that is the way they prefer to communicate (privately). Posting in public is in a big step and for a first post to receive some pretty nasty responses, from one member in particular, plus some comments regarding an April Fool can be upsetting for some. I think that this rather surprising thread is a reminder (to some members) to consider what and how they post.

I think Eleanor's post sums up the situation well and it is a shame that Paul has decided not to continue with us. Hopefully he will return.

I am now closing this thread as the original subject of finding a chef has now been covered.
