So good to be back in PP and will shortly be booking tests to return home. Important to note, and I have just checked the UK GOV site, that you do not need a PCR test (currently around €90 in the port) as an Antigen test (€30) will suffice 72 hours before departure:)

Apologies if this has already been mentioned by Juaneda Hospital group have a COVID testing centre in Formentor road (junction with Mendez Nunez - opposite Restaurant Na Riuxe.)

They have an online booking system (www.15minutetest.com/es) and the tests conform to all current criteria.

We booked return lateral flow test with Dr Alcudia, price €30 and results within 15 min.

He was previously recommended on this forum

I think there are 2 or 3 test centres in the Port now. A resident posted a not very good report on FB of the one you refer to, she went to the Doctor Mallorca one on the sea front near to the tobacco shop and said it was excellent.

Apologies if this has already been answered. To return to the UK after Monday 19th, when Mallorca moves to amber status, is the antigen test still sufficient? Or do I need the full PCR? Thanks

Playing golf last night and my phone pings to tell me ive been in contact with someone who has tested positive, so have isolate. It quickly transpires that someone on my plane who sent off their day 2 test was positive, so me and my pals despite being negative have to isolate until Tuesday. Was called early this morning to reinforce the message!

Ho hum, plenty to do in the garden and the Open is on telly!

Yes I have heard of this happening on alot of flights back from Mallorca.
I have decicded to move my holiday along a few days so that I return after the 16th August when it will no longer be a requirement to self isolate if you are deemed a close contact.

Yes us to - flew back a week ago yesterday just received a call we need to isolate for 3 days.
Lovely weather so will just chill in garden.

Dont forget, the day 2 test only has to be done BY day 2. There's nothing to stop you doing it at the airport as you walk out to the car park.

Has anyone booked with Doctor Mallorca - been on website - not sure how you arrange a test?

From their website;

"To make the appointment for our clinic please send a whatsapp or call directly to:
0034-664-404-261"

Hahahahahaha...sorry magic hat - i didn't ask the right question - i have looked on and sent an email - i hadn't received a reply and wondered if anyone had electronically arranged an appointment. I'll whatsapp them. Cheers mate.

I'm confused

If everyone has to test before they fly home how is it that people on the plane have covid ?

Very good question....but I'd suggest that if you take a test a day before you leave and two days after you get home, that leaves a three day window to pick it.

The only thing the test proves is that you were negative when it was taken. You could get infected as soon as you walk out the door ;).

How soon after I'm infected with the new coronavirus will I start to be contagious?
The time from exposure to symptom onset (known as the incubation period) is thought to be two to 14 days, though symptoms typically appear within four or five days after exposure.

We know that a person with COVID-19 may be contagious 48 hours before starting to experience symptoms. People may actually be most likely to spread the virus to others during the 48 hours before they start to experience symptoms.

For people who are not fully vaccinated, wearing masks, particularly indoors, can help reduce the risk that someone who is infected but not yet experiencing symptoms may unknowingly infect others.

Thanks . Just soo depressing since most of us are now double vaccinated.
I stupidly thought that when the vaccination roll out began back in January all would be well by summer !

Anyway still coming in Sept.

Keep on looking forward to your trip…..you won’t regret it. We’re here now and the place is much busier than last month. Almost feels like normal. Enjoy!
