So is it definte that you can't travel from the UK in May then? This has never been mentioned in the UK press or even on the UK government travel advice page?

it has nothing to do with the UK its the Spanish government. people seem to think because the UK says you can travel then away you go.
But you need to look at the requirements of each country and the border restrictions. At this time Spanish boarder is closed to non residents of Spain and non EU citizens or non Shenzhen citizens until the 30th May but this could change or be extended as i said in my earlier post
If you read all the uk Government web site is does actually give entry requirements into Spain. takes a bit of reading but it is there . it lists all requirements for entry into Spain and it is also worth noting that they added a caveat to that 3 weeks ago which states that even with the papers they recommend the decision to allow entry is with the boarder control officer remember now you have to report to the desk on entry have passport stamped the same on exit not allowed to use electronic barriers ( how much fun will that be entering and leaving in a busy season get ready for long long ques in and out)so he or she decides if you can enter . Brexit the gift that keeps on giving

So as of midnight the state of emergency in Spain ended. I have had my 2 jabs and am prepared to quarantine on my return from Mallorca. My EZY flight on 17th May and returning 24th May to and from LGW are apparently still operating and the UK government say I can fly, but I still can’t enter Mallorca??

We are supposed to come over for 2 weeks from the 12th of June but dont feel it will be worth the effort if it is still Amber

We can change our flights free of charge and can cancel the apartment without charge until the 28th May Spain may go on the Green list but might not if things are being opened up now and Vaccination rates are low so it could all be very last minute and with all the tests think it will be easier to leave it until next year

Vaccination rates are so low .. EU administration - the gift that keeps giving

Just pushed my trip back to 9th June......its worth keep booking a date rather than take the vouchers btw...because when it does open up, the flight costs will go through the roof.

Check out Faro as an example!

Ive had my Jersey Royal potatoes so Im fine !

I read Mr O leary has laid on lots more flights so prices to Portugal have shot down in price

Yes....I'm due out on the 6/6 for 10 days....might get moved to green list on 31/5 - but if it stays amber and Spain aren't allowing us in - I'll have to pay for Hotel Can Pere in old town Alcudia for 5 nights so will have to cancel and rebook. I was out in Sept and it was wonderful, just hope as many businesses survive as possible.

Just spoke today with someone who lives/lived in PP, and they informed me that they reckon that up to 50% of the restaurants and bars are now opening, but that very, very few of the hotels have opened so far.

I would be very interested to hear from some of you guys/gals that live there, and hear your opinions on opening rates?

An acquaintance of mine has told me that the Capri, on the front, has been open since the middle of April and that the Playa Mar is planning to open on the 21st of this month

Tangoman - it is probably easier to say which ones haven't opened yet. any specific ones you want to know about?

Doesn't anyone else find it odd that no one is saying we can't travel to Spain in May? I mean, if I wasn't looking at this site of PP on FB, then I'd have absolutely no reason to think I couldn't travel after the 17th May and go through the quarantine process.

It would be a right shock to land in Palma and be told to go back where you came from!

I reckon there will be a few stories in the press next week.

You will be refused boarding without the papers .they are checked at check in and again at the gate, I am telling you this from experience , All the airlines are checking that people have the correct papers to be allowed entry into the country they are flying to so worst case would be a wasted visit to the airport.
Please do not get your information from Facebook or social media .Please check official government website for up to date information,

Hi Gommar Goffer, thanks for the info. re Restaurants & Bars.

We usually try to work our way through a varied selection of Bars/Restautants when in PP, and in no particular order. But as a guideline, the following list are normally included, again in no particular order:-

Laroc, Hibiscus, Centric, Hostal Bahia, Uno, (Tango - If Only!!), Ambrosia, Nostalgia, Alfresco (use it a lot), different ones in the square, and, this year again, if it is has been reopened as previously reported, Bar Neptuno (best tapas in PP in the old days, loved it). There was also one on the seafront, name escapes me, but he had a photograph on the wall years back, which showed "Snow" on the beach around 1934 or so.

This year staying in The Miramar, what is their cuisine like, anybody know?

Hibiscus, Centric, Ambrosia, Nostalgia all definitely open :).

We flew to Lanzarote at Christmas with everything present and correct but many people at the Airport were waiting for their test results to come through !

Think it would be a good idea if they said here "Providing entry to the country you wish to travel to allows entry " My husband speaks Spanish and keeps up to date with everything

Compared to France and italy Spain is doing well with their infection rate

We are trying to change our flights at present but impossible to get through on the phone Have read on a Facebook group ( Tui Complaints !!) that some people have sat on the phone for 4 hours If you book a flight online you cant change it online only a holiday It would save themselves so much work if they could sort this out

Thanks Sparky. Just remembered the name of the seafront restaurant, Iru!! Briiliant food and service.

Also liked Na Ruixa, and C'an Pescador??
