Digital Electricity Meter

Hi everyone
I heard on the grapevine that everyone is required to have a digital electricity meter by April 2018. Has anyone else heard this too? I can’t find anything on theR seas website but will give them a call I think! We are in the countryside and I don’t even know where our meter is!
