EasyJet insurance

We are booking for our October break as per usual. Now, I know that EJ have now made charges for your luggage, more money for them; they also do the early boarding, which EVERYONE now gets, so even more money for them. BUT, we CANNOT get rid of the EJ insurance option, no matter how hard we try and how many times we press the REMOVE button!
If we do, it just closes the whole page down and you have to go back to the beginning.
Is this just another money making ploy to make you pay for something you dont really need - we have our own insurance, or has anyone found a way past this?
Going to have to book tomorrow so if anyone knows PLEASE let me know!!

Hi Bella, i've never used EJ but it does sound like a money making racket to me. If they are making you use their insurance i think they should be made to state this on the booking form.

Travel insurance is not a requirement of flying with any carrier.

Sounds like there's a fault on their software - must be something like that if there's a "remove" button. Presumably they have a helpline you could ring to sort it out?

Good point. You can take off the Speedy Boarding easily enough, but not the insurance. Will try and get hold of them today, the help button doesnt help,fingers crossed for the phone buttons!!

I've just tried it - nearly booked a flight too! - & there are 2 steps to removing the insurance:

1. click on the word 'Remove' on left

2. Then just below there is an option 'Keep the Cover' which is pre-checked for you & next to it 'Remove'. Select 'Remove' & click on the 'Update' button to the right of it.

That should work - they are making it difficult though!

If your page is closing down - try rebooting your PC - as it didn't do that for me.

The method described by Pollensa does work, I've tried it too. The set-up on Jet2 for removal of their insurance is very similar in case anyone is thinking of booking with them

Ahha! I've come across the second "update" button before on some site or another (BMIBaby?)- trying to get rid of the meals option.

Thank you all SO much! Havent tried it yet, as just logged on to see if anyone could help - and you have! Yet again what a brilliant site.
Attempted to go on their e mail help, and as of yet we are still awaiting their reply! HA! SHould have known our PP site is the best for help!

Oh its going to be one of those days isnt it.
Have just done a test run before getting everyones details, and it just doesnt work for me!
I thought it looked too good to be true. I may not be completely au fait with computers, but I have no trouble at all following directions - or giving them hubby may say!
So had another go and yet again as soon as I pressed the first Remove button, the page went blanks, but this time it did give me a very fleeting glance of the next page to follow on, so I could see the Keep and Remove options, but couldnt get to them before the page keeps shutting down!
This is all on the laptop, so decided to try the main computer upstairs. Unfortunately it still doesnt like the idea of working and I only managed to log on once and then it just kicked me out.
So, It looks like I have no flippin option but to take out the insurance, but will try try again before I do so today.
I am so cross!

They have changed the format slightly...used to be you just had to press remove insurance that's written next to your chosen dates. Now you have to do that then scroll down a bit and it says:

Keep the cover O Remove O UPDATE

Tick remove then click on UPDATE
