After checking a recent booking where I only booked 1 piece of hold baggage for 2 people travelling, I discovered that you are allowed a max of 32kg for the one case. If I had booked 2 pieces of hold baggage I would have been limited to 20kg per case.

This therefore saves money by not being charged for checking in 2 cases.:D

Dont you have to pay for the excess over 20kg in blocks of 3kg at a much higher cost than an extra bag!

Whaley I think Gordon's right!

Easyjet charge £42 per extra 3kgs so if you took the maximum of 32 kgs it would cost you £168

We also were given the larger allowance and also my family when they visited last summer. No extra charges were incurred but your bag gets labelled as heavy if you use the 32kg in one bag.

I've just been on the Easyjet site and you're right whaley and lollipop.. That's brilliant news! We always take 2 light cases when we go out in the winter on short trips (although mine is usually near 20kg and hubbys is 12kg!!) Will definitely use this option from now on :)

The challenge is on Bella ;) Can you do it for your trip in April ??!!

This is Good News if this is now policy across all EZ locations.

What I would like them to do is to have the option to return with no checkin luggage, although we may take hold luggage out, we find that we bring less back!! At the mo you have to book separate journeys out v return to be able to do this. You end up getting different pricing for the return journey due to being quoted in Euros despite opting at the later stages of the booking to change currency to ££££££££s.

I will be looking at this for the next flights

Thanks

I couldn't believe what I was reading and indeed had to read the booking several times but it definately said that our max for the one checked in bag per two people was 32kg. The 20kg only seems to apply when checking in 2 bags per two people!!

Lollipop - The 32kg bag does get labelled as heavy but this is just to comply with their manual handling regs. at the airport.

Hope I've found a loophole and that others can take advantage of it. I'll report back following my next visit.

Whaley, yes it is manual handling regs, just thought I would point out in case others panicked. I think if there are more of you and you book in 2 cases you get a bigger allowance!! I wonder how long before they change it, its been this way since last summer at least.
