El Gordo (The Fat One) Christmas lottery draw has just finished and it started at 9am so quite a marathon. It's a really big deal here and many people stay glued to the TV as the numbers are drawn from a huge ball shaped cage and the prize values are drawn from a smaller one, children basically sing the numbers which is lovely but it does get a bit boring after a while. The top prize is 4 million euros, 2nd is 1,250,000€, 3rd is 500,000€, 2x4th is 200,000€, 8x5th is 60,000€ and the lowest is loads x1000€ and the good news is that some lucky people in Puerto Pollensa have won one of the 5th prizes .
The first prize tickets were sold in Huesca, Aragon.

Never mind Lollipop maybe next year .
We bought 2 tickets, unfortunately did not have the right number for 60 grand, don't know if we have any of the 1 grand numbers but we have at least got our money back on one for having the 1st and last numbers of the winning ticket correct .

Wish our lottery was like 'El Gordo', lots of smaller prizes, it would give more people the chance of a prize.

The "El Nino" lottery took place on Thursday, once again i got my money back for having the last digit correct but the big news is that some of the 100,000€ 2nd prize tickets were sold here in PP in the tabac shop on C/JuanXX111, the shop had also sold 5th prize tickets in "El Gordo".
