My wife and younger daughter are just back from a short break in PP. They were eating at a restaurant in the square last night when there was a fire in a house close by, and the elderly resident had to be rescued, apparently by some locals and tourists. I understand that the fire service took around 30 minutes to respond, and had to come from Lluc!

Is it really the case that there are no local fire appliances? Given the number of hotels in PP and Alcudia this strikes me as a dangerous situation! Or have I got it wrong?

I thought there was a fire station in Alcudia which covers the Pollensa area.

There is a fire station serving our end of the island in Carre Amsterdam in the heart of the Alcudia Hotel belt
