I agree with you Bella. The graffiti just brings a 'dirty' feel to a place. The problem as you said. is stopping it. I'm sure as soon as it is cleared off then then it's back again. Not only does it become a challenge but also the person receives 'street cred' from his/her peer group. It is a shame that the council are not more pro-active in trying to find the culprits. To then ensure that as a punishment they clean up the town in bright coloured jackets ( Boy George New York style) may help solve the problem. Ok to get them to do this once may actually add to their 'street cred' but to get them to do it every night for a month would soon change attitudes!
As for the dog poo - well as we have said before - this is down to the owners and the general complacent attitude of the locals to accept this. I don't think the poo situation will change until the attitude of it being unacceptable changes.
I also agree that as we have spoken so often on this forum of the state of PP we are much more likely to notice things. Glad that you had a good time Bella. We would love to be out in November too.

A group of yobs can make a place rowdy, but unfortunately it only takes one yob with a basic education to cover a place with graffiti Trace SLV and we have the culprit?

Some of his "artwork " outside the old school was painted over on Monday and guess what............it was back by Tuesday. Now i had thought it was bored kids but they are back at school now and this has to be done in the very early hours of the morning, so i am wondering if it is maybe an adult. Perhaps PP needs to invest in CCTV .

It is true that it is easy after living somewhere so long that you only see the negatives and take everything for granted. How the tourists love London yet ask someone battling with the metro everyday what their thoughts of London are??? So its a breath of freshair when a new visitor points out just how lovely the Port is- safe, attractive, beautiful beaches, fantastic restaurants eetc.. Probably the most beautiful bay in the world!! PP has something for everyone and I imagine that the negatives that we now see here other resorts have lived with for ever. However, that does not make it right and I personally believe that Alcudia local government have done a fantastic job over the last 5 years in improving every aspect of the area - its clean, fantastic infrastructure and tourists are made to feel welcome all year round. Pollensa council should learn from them and get Pollensa back at the top of the best resorts in Spain league - for the locals and the visitors.

Nice post JMD.....and the above is what makes me come back everytime...that and loads of other positives...the negatives that I read about each year prior to arriving for my holidays has me worrying everytime that things have got really bad that I am going to be sooo disappointed but it has never been the case!! Long may it continue!! Love the place and hope the council sees sense and makes any improvements required to maintain it's MAGIC

Don't understand all these "Alcudia is wonderfull" posts Last week having had a major ,unrequested tour courtesy of Resorthoppa, my recollection is that most of it hasn't changed, and it would be far down on my list of holiday destinations.

The port area has been done-up and is very nice, but lets keep a bit of prespective here.

We also had a trip around Alcudia this summer thanks to First Choice transfers, it was awful and we appreciate PP so much more. It was such a relief coming round the bay and seeing the wonder that is PP, in saying that we did not make it to old Alcudia and would like to next year.
