Hi cd. What a lovely post. I've just read it twice and could read it all over again. Took me back to when mine were small too. LK

That was lovley I am sitting here with a smile on my face ,what a way to start the day .

Scotty Lady:)

Hi CD, i love to read about other peoples memories of PP. And the place has certainly produced many for me, Ahh! heaven.:D

Anytime in PP is the right time, but I remember also going for early morning runs when I was younger and fitter, when we stayed at the Habitat I used to run down to the beach along the front, stop for a swim, back passed the cake shop, stop off for croissants and get home in time for the family to be waking up fro breakfast. The port in the early morning is great, quite and empty with only the locals off to work and also not too hot yet. :)

Hi CD

Absolutely brilliant post - beautiful. I think you have captured in your post why many of us return to PP. A colleague recently descibed PP as like a book. When you leave PP the book closes and when you return you are ready for the next chapter.

Thank you.

Sharon

Aw - I have really enjoyed reading all this - lovely stuff.

It's hard to pick a favourite time -

early morning when the Pine Walk smells of bleach as Terraces are washed and you hear the chink of cups on saucers?

early evening when the heat goes out of the sun and the water is warm for swimming, and all the local families come for a dip?

pre-dinner drinks on the balcony once showered with the smell of food and comparing suntans?

heading out for dinner dressed up and relaxed and happy or after dinner strolling along the square or stopping for an ice-cream at the kiosk?

or - my personal favourite - strolling home under the stars with maybe a moonlight paddle?

Bliss,

Lala ;)

Time of Day!

Hi Scotty,
Like you I keep returning to PP. Just looked at the Bernard Hamilton Web Camera (9.30AM LOCAL TIME) -it looks so quiet and peaceful - probably is my favourite time of day.
Will be there for 4 weeks this summer - can't wait!

Best Wishes,
Wyevale

Time of day

My favourite time of day would be early/evening, going to the beach when most people have left, lovely time of day, speaking of time it doesn't really matter in PP, Does it? When you think of all the pressures/stresses adhereing to time creates in our daily life it's a pleasure just to ignore it for a couple of weeks. I don't even have a watch, the position of the sun tells me all i need to know.

As we near Fathers Day, it reminds me of a wee story. A number of years ago when my kid was about 5 yrs, he tied up with this old chap who used to fish at the end of the small pier across from the Daina, spent a lot of time with this old fellow, who taught him to fish etc, both of them ended up good mates. Anyway, on the said day the old guy came over to me, with a lump in his throat, he said to me "You know your kid said one of the nicest things to me".

He asked me if i had a son, "I said, yes, i actually do have, but he now lives in Australia" To which my son extended his little hand, shook the old guys hand, and said, "Happy Fathers Day":)

Smiddy - what a smashing wee man you have - lovely story.

Thanks,

Lala

Great story, Smiddy:)
My fav time of the day has to early evening, when we are all dressed up, ready for tea, just walking along the beach to the restauants

My favourite time of the day is between 7 and 8pm, sitting outside the Hotel Miramar sipping a G&T and watching the hordes of sunburnt, tattoed Brits stomping down the Pine Walk looking for places to eat. You also see groups of old couples done up like ballroom dancers eating sausage and chips in Joker Bar and other places along the front. It's a very relaxing time of the day.

"hordes of sunburnt, tattoed Brits stomping down the Pine Walk "

Hi Monty Perera,

LoL - Hordes & Stomping are not words I would associate with the Pinewalk....maybe it's because I don't go in the height of season!!?? Wonder what they are thinking of you as they pass!! ;):)

I really don't think your comments add anything to this thread which is about favourite times of the day. We're all entitled to our opinions but your views seem heavy with unnecessary sarcasm.

Oh dear!!!! Monty you do seem to have a very low opinion of your fellow holiday makers don't you, in fact i think it's rather snobbish of you :(. I remember your first post on here, asking us to be "Gentle" with you:rolleyes:. Do you not think others deserve the same respect that you asked for:confused:.

It seems a shame that this lovely thread has been hijacked by one sarcastic post so I'm going to get it back on topic again and post another message. I did say earlier that my favourite time was evening, but I also like early morning, just before it gets too hot and the air feels fresh and cool.

From our villa last year we had a lovely view of the mountain next to Pollensa (with the Puig de Maria on top) and it was wonderful to see the change in the colour of the sky as the sun climbed higher.

You could hear all the cockerels crowing and knew that ahead lay another beautiful day of the holidays. Bliss!

My favourite time of the day is between 7 and 8pm, walking past the Hotel Miramar and watching the hordes of people sipping G & Ts still in there swim wear, with little finger cocked in the air with there noses stuck in the glass.
How to spoil a superb Hotel letting that sort of person stay there or use the bar, still there is room to park zimmer frames out the front.
