Ferry operators to Palma / Alcudia

Just back from another stay in PP and planning for future visits, bringing over somewhat more than normal so looking at ferries.
Initial enquiries via the web indicate that it's an expensive business for 2 passengers and car. Does anyone have experience of the ferries and if so any comments please?
