Fiestas Virgen Del Carmen, July 2011

Yes, I did not like to mention that although we should remember we are all part of Pollensa and we shall all enjoy the La Patrona too - which is a fiesta dating back hundreds and hundreds of years. They are apparently cutting out the entertainment of night of 1-2 August which is a massive decision. At least the new Major has the **** to make unpopular decisions..... and we can still enjoy those lovely zebra crossings that he painted all over the Port in his first week in office - if only we had realized they were in place of the fireworks we may not have used them!! jee jee

Any update re possible replacement for beach party which there was a thought local businesses may try to organise ... I have 3 disappointed teenagers and have to admit to quite enjoying it myself

Hi cd, i did report last week that it isn't going to happen. I was told they couldn't get permission to use any part of the beach. Sorry!!

So you did .... Never mind sure they will find sufficient entertainment and as we will have berm on the go since 5am it is probably for the best

Well there may not be a beach party but have just left the terms having the time of their life playing darts in batacuda and are sitting outside maxims with dad who at 81 is just loving the band

The square is buzzing and I have had enough faustino and rafa's mojitos to know that all is well with the world

And how good was that band it's cd, great atmosphere in the square. Had a fab time after in Nostalgia, consumed a few vinos with Lorenzo and LK1960, lovely to see you again girls .

Well the one weekend in the year where the focus of attention was not the square or the marina but us poor old souls in the wilderness was taken away from us. Thank you Pollensa town hall I will bear that in mind when you come calling with the over inflated rubbish bill for the year and invoice for the terrace licence

Did the fireworks happen? We were in Can Cuarrasa on Sunday and they said that they had been canclled due to lack of funds.

We didn't bother to go, but are interested to see whether we missed them

There was no fireworks display on the beach but we still had the Batucada and the demons fire run.
