Filming at La Fortelesa?

Something strange was going on today! I know it was gloomy and overcast but the light shining from La Fortelesa was definitely not a low energy bulb. I spotted this around 4pm as we ventured out for a constitutional..it seemed odd as it was still daylight.
We got as far as Marina and stopped for coffee, which somehow continued for a few hours thanks to a new discovery...Aperol spritz :) Ade and Sue thanks for stopping by ;) Suddenly we were aware the sea plane was revving up and once airborne we were aware it was doing very daring acrobatics, on a completely different flight path that we'd ever seen before. Anyone else see the angle it was swooping in over the sea around 6 pm?

Watch this space ! It was either Amanda Holden filming another yoghurt ad or maybe those Mad Dogs are back where they belong in PP for a series finale :D
 
That explains a lot Debz. The plane flew over our place and it was very low, it doesn't normally fly directly over us so i just put it down to a change in the wind direction :confused:.
 
It was pretty low over Singala.
Mrs C finds Aperol spritzer palatable as well. Rather like paraffin let down with lemonade if you ask me.Everyone to their own, though. And Aperol has been getting mentions in the Sunday papers Magazines lately so maybe it's me that's out of touch. Obviously:(

No exaggeration I thought it was going to dive bomb into the sea. Very spectacular but a bit unnerving :eek:

I'd never heard of it until we went to Trencadora last week. They love a bit of marketing there, and it was displayed on a table along side a bottle of prosecco as a mix. Being open to persuasion 'The Ladies' had to try it :p It's far to namby pamby for blokes!

It's similar to Campari,but less alcoholic, and apparently been around since the 1920's. I like it :)
 
Liking the sound of that - been looking for a good while for something nice that I can drink all night and still stand up straight ...... And don't any smarty pants suggest water will do the trick

Debs sorry tu upset you but final mad dogs series already filmed .... I think mainly in South Africa but did think I heard some reference back to Majorca

Getting back to the filming ..... Could it be a promo for the seaplane splashdown ?

Coffee, tea, cola.....................:eek:;).

I suppose it could be something to do with "Sea splash" but as they have said there won't be one next year, it would be a bit early. It might be a military promo though, they have done films before and i am sure there are links to them on here somewhere :).

.............. SCARY :eek: I was up on the roof terrace and it was coming straight towards me!!
 
filming

They have been filming for a few days now in various parts of the fort.I have been watching this aft through the binos and the attention seems to be on a blue car which speeds up the hill and then dissapears out of sight. The other day they were on the top filming just below the flag pole, but today they are in a different spot with one camera way up high in a hydraulic platform, I bet that cameraman has got a fair old tan or just wind burn. No clues as yet what they are doing so let us know if anyone finds out before we do.:)

As for the "Flying Display" in all the years we have been coming here that was the fanciest flying we have ever seen. Lola was laying back hard in her lounger as if she were on board. Hoping, if the pilot has not been court marshalled, we may see some more tonight. :)

Lol @ Lola! We said exactly the same, that we'd never seen anything like it! Similar flying again this evening about 6ish. The plane approached for landing turning sharply and practically flying sideways then dive bombed towards the sea, just straightening up to land at the last minute :eek::eek:
 
Think something else was going on when we were over, it looked like there was a lot of trucks, cars and temporary buildings at the entrance on the hill, and then towards the end of the week they all disappeared!!
