There is a fire behind Siller, a lot of smoke and embers flying about .

The air is thick with smoke & the wind is fierce as it has been all day. According to reports I have seen on local sites fire brigades from Inca & Alcudia have been called and evacuations have been ordered from some parts of Siller.

looks awful, hope everyone's ok. thought there'd been enough rain recently to make sure this type of fire wouldn't happen.

Not sure Graham but they are evacuating some people from the back of Siller.

So sad to watch the video clips and pictures last night....terrifying for all concerned, praying it wasn't going to get any worse overnight, so relieved to read it hadn't when I read the MB this morning. Just a horrendous thing to have happened.

Just to put everyone's mind at rest, although the reports and photo/videos looked horrible there were no injuries or damage to property and by morning little sign of the blaze.

We had expected to be evacuated because of the speed that the blaze spread from Siller towards the by-pass. But by the early hours it had virtually burnt itself out.

We expected to see a scene of devastation in the morning but other than some black patches you would not have know that there was such a massive blaze. Cyclone Bruno was blowing a gale and according to locals it was only the dry scrub that burnt.

A relief to know there were no injuries to life or property.

We were also being sent regularly photos from a friend out there, and it looked much more scary than it actually turned out to be!

Coming out 1st Jan, so looking forward to it. Mon-Fri looks lovely!
