fuel costs?

We are hiring five door renault clio when we come out in september,does anybody have an idea how much it costs to fill these cars up,just don't want it to come as too much of a shock

You will be pleasantly surprised.

It will cost you about 30 euros for a full tank for a Cleo and last you forever. You don't travel long distances in Mallorca

Petrol is about 30% cheaper than in the UK.

Fuel costs............Joke!
We have just had a fab 3 days in PP and as usual rented a car through carjet however this time the given rental companies terms were very different to all the previous hires we have had (and there have been many!) As our rental only just went into a fourth day we were charged for a full tank of petrol. Impossible to use when you just want the car for transfer! we tried to dispute this but were quoted the terms I know some of you will say should have checked but after mucho rentals and only ever returning the car as received we assumed all agents would operate the same. Expensive lesson some 55euros+ later car (Citreon C3) returned full, no refund just basically Tough! we shall dispute this with our credit company see what happens. Just feel conned I am sure there have been many left out of pocket with this rental company Europa Goldcar! Sad thing is my next 2 rentals are with the same agent arrrrrgh!

fuel costs

we used europa goldcar at christmas,we arrived late after delays,they are open 24 hours,its 3 in the morning no one around we waited for an hour for girl to show,god knows where she had been,said that we hadn't let them know change of flights,which of course i had notified them,then they charged for full tank of petrol and not knowing what it costs they can charge you anything,we weren't at our bests by this time,so i want to know this time,but we are using centuaro this time,please,no delays.

Thanks for the info above folks. I'll make sure I don't use this company next time I book a car. I normally use Centauro or Record through auto-europe.co.uk and haven't had any problems (so far!)

Have just returned and noted that unleaded petrol is €0.99 per litre and diesel is 0.95 per litre. We have our own car now, but used to use Auto Esteralles who were very good and honest. We still see their rep at the airport and he always greats us as long lost cousins. One advantage is you can book on line. I can supply details if you need them.

Fuel Costs

We always tend to use Carjet, never let us down. We used them last week and were given a free upgrade to a Honda Civic 1.6. for 102 euros, not bad. Likewise we have the eternal problem of being given a full tank(60Euros). IMO opinion this works both ways, it's nice to drive straight to PP without looking for a petrol station, some of which close at night. In this case the weather was so good we only used half the tank, however if the weather had been poor im sure we would have used all the fuel. Think of all the money these companies make from unused fuel? nice work if you can get it! Suppose it also lets you drive back to the airport relaxed, instead of keeping one eye on the fuel guage. :lol

As I noted above, we have book through auto-europe.co.uk who use Centauro and Record amongst others. Whenever we've picked the car up, they've always noted how much fuel is in the tank (normally anywhere between 1/4 tank and 3/4 tank) and told us to return it with the same. It's always worked for us!

When we go in September,we are going for two weeks,so if it's 60 euros to fill up which i just converted on the currency thing to £41,thats not bad,what do you think?.
Carjet are charging £180for the two weeks and its with centauro,i thought it was good for that time of year,the car is a new five door Clio.

I can see where CarJet are coming from - it's a busineess decision with the policy of picking up with a full tank. However, in their favour I have used them the last 2 trips and currently have a brand new Focus estate at a great rate for 12 days. To date they have been hassle free, and while it has cost me say 10-15 Euros for the fuel I have not used, have found them good value and easy to deal with. Things change and this forum is invaluable for stuff like this!

We always use Europa Goldcar (web site all-inclusive-car-hire.com) for the last six years with no problems. We always use our tank of fuel and more so we always take the car back with some fuel in its better to be safe than sorry as I always seem to drive back to the airport a different way each time.
