Getting to PP from airport

Just to clarify then; the normal shuttle service is running and that it is only the speedy 'shuttle express' that will not be operating.

I have just rang resortHoppa and they have told me that they will not be running the shuttle express in Majorca this year!!

Good grief, I hope this isn't the case. All of my trips this year, including one next month are with the Speedy Shuttle as I always find waiting on the bus (have once waited an hour and a half) an infuriating way to start the holiday although I do take the shared coach on my return to PMI as I've found Hotel Daina to be one of the last pickup points (closest for me).

Despite this, I've always considered ResortHoppa's service to be very good so am surprised/ disappointed that there hasn't been an email or text message sent to this effect and offering me my refund.

Friends of ours have used the normal service for the last couple of years and PP has been the first drop off.

I thought I booked the speedy hoppa for when we are out in April, but I double checked my paperwork and it was in fact private hire. I rang them yesterday to see if I could change to the speedy hoppa ... that's when they told me they would not be running this service in majorca anymore. Incidentally if I wanted to cancel my booking they were going to charge me the full amount!! We usually use the speedy hoppa there, normal hoppa back.

I checked my booking on their website and my April trip still shows Speedy Hoppa as my booking

Well, 13 days to go till I find out, hope its not a bad start to the holiday as @m really needing a relaxing trip.

Hi Everyone

Have just been recommended to use Home | Pollensa Shuttle and also www shuttledirect.com, instead of resorthoppa, who look like good value to me!!

Any comments anyone???

Never heard of them (Pollensa Shuttle) however looking at their webpage it looks like a mini-bus they run, if so then 15E each way is comparable with Resporthoppa's now defunct Speedy Shuttle.

Would also be interested to hear of anyone else experience.

Not heard of them either. I have booked Resort Hoppa with 18% off for our children when they come out to join us but we are getting a taxi :).

Not had any problems with RH - last time we used them it was a Monday afternoon and it was just the two of us and another person so we had a people carrier but the return trip was a rammed full double decker bus so you never can tell but still reliable and on time.

However they seem very expensive for the private transfer compared with the taxi service that is recommended on here. Also I find it very very annoying that they still charge way above the government rules for debit and credit cards (£1.50 and £3.00 I think) - outrageous on something that costs around £10.They still insist this is what the bank charges them but if you pay by paypal there is no fee.

Thanks for that both.

Also, arrival is 22.10 Saturday night in Sept - so would like a reasonable arrival time in PP.

Any recommendations??? Don't mind paying a fair premium.

Has anyone used Pollensa Shuttle? We usually just order a taxi but this looks interesting?

Well... update from my trip. Ended up getting the Speedyhoppa both ways although it wasn't with Urbis/ Quick Travel.
Arrived at the Urbis/ Quick Travel desk outside door B and expected to be told that the shuttle wasn't running and to get on the big bus but was pointed to another transfer company located at the other end of the terminal.

Couldn't fault either trip and both took only about 40 mins due to time of day - hopefully all other trips this year go to plan as well so interested to hear any other travelers experiences and hopefully you have good luck too :)

Great to hear. Thanks for the update.
Hope they do honour the existing bookings throughout the season.

And hope you had a pleasant holiday :)

Can anyone tell me if it is OK to just turn up at Palma Airport, go to the Resorthoppa desk, and use the shuttle, without pre-booking? We are not sure wether to pre book, or to wait and see upon arrival if we would like to use a taxi.

I doubt you can do that as I think that resorthoppa acts as a booking agent for various local shuttle companies in different countrie. The actual company at the airport is not resorthoppa but a local agency who has received bookings from resorthoppa.

But I may be wrong - has anyone here ever tried?

I can confirm that you need to have booked in advance and that you cant just turn up.

PP Airport Transfer

Thank you both very much - that's that cleared up then. Will go ahead and book, and if we decide to take taxi, when we get there, then it's not much money to lose.

Thanks again

John

Sorry I am Confused

I did use the Express Resort Hoppa Bus last year and thought is was great value for money. But if they are no longer doing this how many stops do they make on a normal run ? Do they go to Alcudia or straight to PP.That would be a no no for me.

Still trying to make up my mind about whether to book a taxi or take a chance on RH.

Cheers

Scotslizzy

Friends of mine have used RH for the last 4 years and they always come straight to PP and then on to Alcudia :D.

When we're there in August we always use the standard resort hoppa transfer. Don't know whether we've just been lucky but Puerto Pollensa has always been the first stop and we've always been the first or second drop off whether we've stayed in the centre of the Port or Pinaret.

This may be down to the volume of people travelling though and I might regret making this statement in August if our luck runs out!
