Hi

Can anyone advise me on the standard of the course in PP I am playiong off a handicap of 21 and would consider joining when we come out but wondered if anyone has played there before
Thanks

Andy

I played there a couple of years ago when I’d just got back into the game after a break of 15 years or so with a hcp similar to yours and the course was great. Nothing too nasty to destroy your card, enough variety that it’s not boring, decent condition.

Green fees and club hire was really expensive though, I didn’t think it was worth it.

Clubhouse is nice, a swimming pool to keep the family occupied while you’re playing.

Andy,
You will be fine on the Pollensa course, the course at Alcanada which is wonderful would be a bit difficult. Enjoy your round😀

I have been playing golf at Pollenca for over 30 years and am now a member with a purchase of 20 nine hole rounds for €650.

The club has had it's ups and downs and was recently in administration.

I am led to believe that it is now owned by a Chinese consortium who are looking to turn the clubhouse into a hotel. Because of this not much money is being spent on the clubhouse but the course is in the best condition it has been for many a year.

It is a course for all abilities so you will have no trouble Andy.

Check out the 9th / 18th hole which is still probably my favourite hole in golf - especially if you 'score a goal' between the two fairway trees!! :)

My husband and I play there fairly regularly. He plays off a 21 whereas sadly, I play off something significantly higher. It is testing enough with some tricky holes and a long 551 second. There are a couple of tricky short ones but all in all an enjoyable game. The course is in much better condition than it was with the greens being in reasonable condition. The staff are friendly and helpful. It costs 45 euros for 9 holes and 25 euros for a buggy. We have never hired clubs but they have only recently re-newed their hire clubs. There is not much of a pro shop so bring your own glove, balls and tees. We tend to use Alcanada for it's practice facilities, pro shop and restaurant although you can get a nice lunch at Golf Pollensa.

I'm a keen golfer, but haven't managed to play any golf out there yet...my holidays tend to be a break from golf!

I have to say that the cost of nine holes is expensive for such a course. Id only be interested in 18 holes plus club hire and buggy and that would appear to be more money than I'd be prepared to pay. For the record, I am a member of a good club in Surrey, so used to paying reasonable amounts for my golf, but that just doesn't sound like VFM.
