Thank you :)

Hi,
Since Halifax closed in PP, I'm not aware of Halifax/Lloyds ATM's in particular. Others may know better. Also, there are previous threads on use of pre loaded debit cards etc.

No there's isn't :( we have an account there and the nearest branch is in Santa Ponsa but there used to be some ATM machines that did not charge to use . I heard that all ATM s are charging 4% does anyone know if this is true ?

Thank you in advance

I no longer have a Halifax Spain account, but when I did, I used the Barclays ATM by the roundabout, and wasn't charged a penny. But things may have changed, as Pansy Potter mentions above.

You can withdraw money at any SERVIRED machine without charge. I use either the one at Barclays or the one at Bankia (bancaja)

Thank you lollipop :) my husband is there now and was charged 4 % , is it all serviRed machines or just those of the 2 banks mentioned .

I think it is all ServiceRed machines. We haven't ever been charged when using any bank in the ServiceRed facility.

I m not sure if the charges have changed this week as my husband was charged yesterday 4% in Alcudia at a serviRed machine but not sure if it was one owned by the two banks mentioned above .

Thank you for replying :)

Shouldn't be charged at servi red machines according to the info we were given when we first opened our account. I am sure I have used other machines without charge .

Thank you lollipop :) no charges at Barclays in pp

Kind regards

Pansy

Having just looked at the Lloyds banking information online. If you use a credit card at Servired machines there is a charge of 4% but its 0% for debit cards. Maybe the bank your husband used read the card as a credit card, maybe you could claim it back.

Thank you for that information that could be the case ! Unless you can only use certain serviRed machines and not all of them .
Now we have Barclays will make sure we top up our cash there !
Thanks so much for all your help :)

Am I missing something here? I do my banking with Barclays UK and have an account at Barclays in PP - although the two do not recognise each other so there are no benefits atall that I can see?

I'm always charged for taking money out at Barclays PP, albeit from my UK Barclays account, how do you manage to take money out from any bank in Mallorca and not pay a fee then??

It's from our Spanish Halifax bank account , I too am charged if I use my UK account in a Spanish ATM even though its Santander ! Do you get charged using your Barclays Spain account card when withdrawing from your Spanish euro account ?

Lloyds/halifax do not charge when withdrawing money using a servired machine and Debit card. This is with the spanish account not english cards. However if I use my spanish card in the UK halifax I get charged.

Aah, too good to be true then! So the only way it can be done is by withdrawing money from an actual Spanish bank account then?

You can use a uk Santander current account debit card in a Spanish Santander ATM with no charges ...... That's no transaction charge and no transfer charge ..... Rates are pretty good as well so it's a winner.

Thank you cd :) is this quite a new thing , I ve not tried for a while as I was charged , unless it was because I used my cash card and not visa debit card ? Can't remember now as it was a while ago but it's very good to know now !!

It has to be a current account - like a 123 or similar
I think the differentiator is it needs to be an account tat receives money each month and has some direct debits coming out of it.
I think you may get charged for using a cash card against a savings account

We have the Santander premier current account and the Santander ATM in PP doesn't charge as Its cd says. I assume the Santander branch is still open in the port?!
