Meant to ask the question before and may have missed an earlier thread (apologies if so) but when in the Port last week I noticed that BK was closed and a sign in the window seemed to indicate somthing along the lines of .... all enquiries to our Inca shop .... from memory BK has always been open in the winter months. Any news?

I had heard that it had gone as was going to be KFC !!! -

Got this from someone living in the Port.

Hope that info was a joke!

Oh good! - it was a joke then!

If we have to have either would rather Burger King than KFC !
Only as we are now used to it being there and not because of any fondness!

I suppose for Bk read Bonys, Tex Mex etc. Some think it has a place and serves a purpose others think it isnt in keeping with PP.

For what its worth I think it has a place. It isnt in the square or pine walk, it is mobbed with local kids (as is the kebab shop across the road) and it is good for my kids (and us) when they are fed-up eating out at night and all they really want is a BK and to stay in and watch telly.

The sign we read was along the lines of "Closed until the end of the season" it was we think in Mallorcian.

Rab if arriving late in the port we often head to BK for a take away coffee until we can get fresh milk in the morning.
And as you say sometimes young children and teens just want a Burger for a change, just like the locals lol

A lot of local families use BK for kids parties etc and it has been missed this winter.

Ive got to admit, my kids love BK for a snack.

It could be worse, they could open a McDonalds up!!:eek:

OMG - lets not put ideas in their heads! lol

At least we are used to BK being there now - better the devil ............!!

Friend has now had a look for me ..... Cerrado por Temporada ...... closed for season not Cerrado para siempre (closed for ever!!!)

McD wanted to open in building on the opposit corner to Daina  (can't remember the name of the bar ) -that is why Daina bought it, to stop McD!

GG :)

Think, McD would be the final straw:mad:

I for one am pleased it has reopened. As already mentioned, it is not on the Pine Walk or anywhere near the main square so can't see it really matters. If there were say 6 of them around town then a different matter.

I have used it once or twice before and would do so again.

Can't see that just the one really matters ???

I walk past the place fairly regularly, and just like the kebab bar, they are heavily frequented by mallorcan locals so i guess they want their fast food outlets just like the rest of the world.Wonder when Starbucks is coming?? Don't go to Burgerking myself, prefer to eat food.

Don't really do fast food restaurants especially while on holiday but Mr Jupiter has been known to frequent BK when seeking a cure for his red wine induced headache!!!
