I loved it the way it was. I did think it could do with a little updating but I liked the cosy feel the place had, and the terrace area was lovely. I'm not sure about the new covered areas and I'm hoping it's not lost all of its charm. Also, really, really hoping that now they've invested so much money in it, it doesn't become too expensive to stay in... Much love for the Romantic! I'll not be there till August so hope to hear more about it by then. Appreciate the updates.

The work looks very good, seen pics on FB, the 'bike sheds' look great now and the whole place looks very smart indeed now, have to agree about the raised area, accident waiting to happen, and I speak from experience of a similar incident with one in a bar near me, just to say I hit the deck head first much to the amusement of the wife and waitress!!

Thanks for the photos. Feel gutted for them to put in all that hard work to open on time and then for the demolition job to start on next door. Poor guest assuming they have taken bookings.

There are a few guests at the moment, maybe half a dozen rooms look occupied. The staff all did well yesterday and got the place cleaned up but it is a shame it had to happen now.

Great pics romantic looks great,stayed there three times will have to go again,but how sad is next door,its like a landmark has just gone what a shame ,hope they dont get planing permision and it bites them in the bum and a few more property owners in the port deserve the same.

Demolishing The Ancla now does seem deliberate They have had all winter to do it and to leave it so untidy

It may be to do with planning but the people who are suffering are the poor guests at the Romantic Perhaps the local council; will step in and make them clear it up That happened not far from where we live where a thatched Restaurant had burnt down and the new owners were made to clear the wreckage as it was becoming a tourist attraction in its own right !!

I cant wait to see the Romantic as have stayed their several times Has such a great location but it just looks soooo different which I wasnt expecting !

cheers carl...i saw the TA review - sounds very good, saw their official photos....just waiting for some un-official ones. Never stayed before but booked in for 5 nights in June, just wished they had a pool 'cos although i like going in the sea and do like a good pool....

Like many still waiting for more photos. The ones I saw on TA are still the artist impressions unless I missed some real ones. Hopefully more reviews etc to come. I go first two weeks in June so will rectify the situation then lol.
