Soime bright spark had the good idea that we should try the garden at C'an Cuarassa. Although we have eaten there a few times , it's usually been off season and enjoying a window seat overlooking the bay. So , we arrive on probably one of the loveliest nights of the year, with the sun setting over the mountains. Mood not great , cos I'd drawn the short straw re driving but we walked , with friends, into the lovely garden setting.

C'an Cuarassa is the sister restaurant of Stay and offers a similar standard of cuisine with very professional service. Meal of the Day slightly cheaper at 29 Euros + IVA ( including wine, water & coffee ). Menu gets changed weekly but, in my opinion and debatable, slightly better than Stay.

So we settle down to what promises to be a very pleasant evening. We're surrounded by tables of families with young kids which is always nice to see.

"What's that ??" cried Bonyladette as she points over my shoulder at the kiddies playground , swings, chutes and various other playtime paraphernalia.

My old mum had a cardinal rule in that children should be seen and not heard. In fact, I spent the first fifteen years of my life with a dummy and then a prep school sock stuffed in me gob. Had to learn pretty damned quick at fifteen how to talk, I can tell you !!!!

Well, half an hour into our meal she'd have been spinning in her grave as pandemonium broke out. Kids rushing backwards and forwards past us, shrieking and yelling. They hit the playground bigtime. As dads finished their meals they joined the kids and added to the melee and the noise.

Mothers, then decided to converse to each other across our table. " Jonty is doing so well at the advanced Latin, Little Charlotte is really enjoying her french culinary classes , blah, blah, blah " (Where's the bedecked footy shirt brigade when you need 'em ??). Type you call selfish cows as they doublepark outside of the schoolgates in their gas guzzling 4X4s !!!

Having bored the pants off each other for at least half an hour, the kids and dads come rushing back screaming and disturbing us more.

Point of Post

Lovely place, great setting, food and service

Love to see families eating together , seems so right somehow.

Just show a bit of consideration for fellow diners though

Hi Bonyslad!

The first (and last time) we ate in the garden of Ca'n Cuarassa we were attacked by killer mozzies...

I think we spent all of five minutes there before fleeing to L'Aup (which coincidentally has a play area as well).

I have to say though, that the other diners were very helpful and sprayed my two with insect repellent. It must be the proximity to the marshes.

Food was always delicious at Ca'n Cuarassa and we have plans to eat there next month...:D

Hi Bonyslad!

LMAO!

Difficult things to say but someone has to!:D

You know, I looked and looked and looked a few years ago for that restaurant called C'an Tanqueros and never found it, was soooooooooooooo disappointed that I could never express an opinion!!;)
