Thanks for the update Sparky.
We have friends who are in PP just now, flying home on Saturday afternoon. Does anyone know if this will affect the journey to Palma airport, and if so what is the best way to get to the airport?

Sparky we land at 11am. Do you think we will be delayed much....??? Hope your crystal ball is working.??? X

If they are making their own way to the airport they will need to escape before the restrictions are imposed!! If they have booked with resort hopper etc they WL advise 24hours before .There are no concessions for people who are not aware of these restrictions. Good luck.

We heard that Jet2 took one flight to festival park for a 3 hour shop!! until they could get to PP and Alcudia. good luck.

I can't believe this! I will be in the port for a very quick visit and my flight to the Uk is on Saturday afternoon. I am travelling without luggage so I am wondering if I could walk to the old town of Pollensa and get an airport taxi from there? I am not sure of all the road numbers in Sparky's post so can't tell if the road is shut from old Pollensa to the Palma motorway? Is the Palma motorway shut? Any help will be much appreciated!!

Thanks to Sparky for posting the details. However from my reading of the closures the main road from Pollensa (Cockerel Roundabout) to the motorway M13 will be unaffected by events. As we are currently staying off the Aumadrava road I am planning to be able to use that route @ 10am on Saturday morning to return to the airport.

There is a pdf of the bike route that shows the road closures here:
IRONMAN 70.3 Mallorca Course - IRONMAN.com | Official Site of IRONMAN, IRONMAN 70.3, 5i50, Iron Girl and IRONKIDS | Triathlon Races | Official IRONMAN Merchandise | IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii

Cockerel roundabout to motorway looks unaffected and we can get there without using the port pollensa-pollensa main road.
We are also heading back to the airport at about 10am on Saturday.
It will probably have stopped raining by then :)

Thanks for that, it does look as though the bypass isn't totally shut and it would be possible to get to the MA13 motorway by going along a back road (such as Cami LLenaire) to Pollensa.

Here are a couple of pics from the Ironman, and Ironwomen! good fun watching them come along the front with everyone cheering and clapping them on!
