Hey, I have no problem with these establishments, infact i've taken my son in there for burger and chips, I personally think it's an eye sore and it's where it's situated, the BK sign looks absolutly lovely looking at PP from out at sea.
Don't know if they are still there but there was a Only Fools & Horses bar and Rovers Return bar in PP, those two place were there for peoples enjoyment if they like that sort of thing but they are kind of discreetly tucked away but easy to find if you want them, just not my kind of thing.
BK may not attract rowdyism and I never suggested it did, I was just asking if the eyesore was still there, cheap fast food joints, Pubs, clubs and cheap & cheerful package holidays go together well so no point complaining about the clintel who start arriving.
I used to visit Ayia Napa in Cyprus 25 year ago, superb relaxed place back then. Slowly little things similar started to creep into the place, 25 year later the place is a vulgar hole.

Yeah, believe so. Had a yellow 3-wheel Robin supervan outside as well. I am not having a go at these places and think it is situated in a perfect place for those who want to use it, infact I popped in there once to watch Amir Khan win his medal in the Olympics, I just rather see things like BK not be thrust to the front line and think town planning/council need to use a little thought when granting approval. Sure there are many more places BK could have been sited with accessibility.

Anyway that's just my view

I do agree that local councils must accept reponsibility for keeping the character of a resort. I would hate to see the same thing happen to PP that has happened here in Newquay.
Having said that - I think PP still retains its magic and our holiday earlier this year in June was probably our best ever.

I agree Susie, hopefully local opinion will keep a track of things as well as tourist pressure. I also agree about this June being one of the best holidays in PP too strangely enough, must have been helped by the new friends we made and the old ones we saw!

Unfortunately money talks and big chains like BK have plenty of it.

I believe that the BK in PP is a franchise business, that is someone buys the right to sell the BK product.
There is a BK in the Muro area of Alcudia and it is sited in a perfect position, unobtrusive and third line, does great business without being in your face i.e everyone who wants to use it knows exactly where it is, I understand it wanted to open on a square close to the beach but was opposed, think that's how it should be.
