La Patrona Festival

Hello
Has anyone know of a link showing the programme of events for this years La Patrona festival. It would be useful as we are on holiday late July / early August.
I think we will miss the main event as we fly back on the Sat 2nd August but we good to know of any events on the run up particularly any music events etc.

It's a bit early for the programme to be announced yet. I have not seen anything apart from the voting for the main characters. You are right that the main battle is on the 2nd August

I best book my taxi for the airport early as can see taxis being scarce that night!

Hi, I've attended La Patrona for the past few years. Last year I was in the thick of Los Moros y Cristianos and got some great photos. I'd like to share these back with the local community to say thank you for the entertainment but no idea where to post them. Is there a local forum (e.g. Facebook) where people share such things?

Usually the White Ball will be on the July 31st getting going at 10pm until you drop...

1st will be chill with a band in the Placa Major in the evening

2nd will be a few ceremonies, then the Dance of the Cossiers in PM, then marching rabble chaos.

If you dare, go stand on the door step of La Penya at 6.30pm and wait. You will nearly get crushed or pushed through the front window, but you'll get a great view!! You will not be able to get your hands in your pockets to get your phone out from around 10 mins before the face off. My last photo below was taken well before I realised that it was a crazy place to stand.

You only do that once...



Since then I've tended to sit round the corner at Calvari Hills Cafe or U Gallet and just dip into the action.

Probably against my better judgement I tend to get into the drama .... great fun!
