laptop internet access

could somebody please point me in the right direction
i have recently purchased a Sony VAIO netbook which has some great features. 1 of them is it will take my mobile phone sim card and give me access to the internet via that when there is no WI-FI access. i used it at Frankfurt airport recently but it was very expensive being a UK sim in a foreign country. i am thinking when i am in PP for 10 days in August that the most cost effective way would be to buy a Spanish Sim card and pop this in for internet access.
will this work?
any idea of costs?
where will i get the Sim?

No idea but you could always find one of the many Wi-Fi bars in the port, where, for the price of a drink they will give you access.

I had no trouble with access inside the Daina - or you can just sit on the wall nearby. If you buy a coffee they will give you the code.

I find the best wi Fi access in the Puerto is at the Mousetrap (used to be caramba cafe) its in a street off the main pollensa road , the new owner is Norwegian and very helpful.
