late holiday

Hi everyone

We are considering booking a trip to PP for the 22nd of Oct for 1 week.

We are a family of 3 children the youngest being 4 months!
Having been to PP numerous times we love it. However we have never gone so late in the season before. So I had a few questions for ye peeps who go there all year round.

1. Are all resturants/bars etc open right until the last weekend of Oct. I'm thinking of Bony's etc as the kids really love an evening in the square playing with all the other little ones. Is the Ora Playa open? it can come in handy for evening entertainment etc.

2. Is it usually chilly in the evenings/early mornings? Does it get dark early?

3. Is there still a bit of a buzz around or is there a sense that the place is shutting down for the winter?

I love PP at anytime but with a 3 girls from 10, 6 and 4 months I'd like to think we'd be stolling home up from a nice meal having experienced a bit of fun (and drinks!) after a lively day.

OOh, now youre asking Killian! We too are doing a late break - late Oct early Nov and were thinking the same things! Obviously havent got the young children, just daughter and boyfriend, but still want the tempo sometimes!

From what I can remember, it is on the "changeover" time - half terms finished and so family occupancy a bit low, just the youngsters and older groups. But Im pretty sure there is still a lot going on, its usually about 2nd week in November that you start having to hunt around. Lets hope theres enough to tire us all out - and fill our tummys!!

As for temperatures - really hit and miss from then on too. Have been out when its suntan weather, and then again when its jumpers and brollys.
Best to wait nearer the time and check who is out there or just come back.

...word on the street is that this year many places will shut down a month earlier than usual. All because they have not taken enough profit following the credit crunch etc.

There are bound to be plenty of nice places that stay open though...and the best thing about PP is it's beautiful setting which no-one can change..

I think almost everthing will stay upon until the end of October - it will be quiet in the resort but that will be too the huge benefit of those of us that are here. Restaurants will play it by ear - but 31st October is normal closing day and not many places will close earlier although maybe they will close for one or two days weekly to give staff some holidays. Weather - who knows, the evenings do start to draw in of course and they are cooler - BUT much better than UK so book your stay quick and tell your friends that there are some great offers around for half term.

Did October half term for many years when my daughter was at school. Some years 75 and beach weather, one or two years 55 and jumpers. Depends where you stay. If you stay in one of the aparthotels like the Flora, Puerto Azul or Oro Playa there should still be enough to entertain the children. Even if some of the most touristic restaurants close there should be enough choice. Suggest you take jacket for the evening and pack "layers" - camisoles (or vests) tee shirts and cardies and you will be fine.

we allways go in oct half term 22 or 23 rd.
in the last 6 or 7 years the weather has been wonderfull (except last year)
most of the shops/restaraunts will stay open (except last year must be due to the bad weather).p.p is quieter then but thats when its at its nicest in our opinion.
