"Mad Dogs" on Sky TV Feb 10th

have to say watched Mad Dogs and not that impressed found it way to slow, and the acting was pretty rubbish, If a report was given it would have to be Must try harder, plus nephew wanted to watch as was set in Majorica and within half an hour the C word was used twice, now I don't mind some swearing but that show's a lack of writing and imagination.

Too true Sparky....we are there in June......making a mental note of 'packing list' already.
I know its too soon but its half the fun..... the anticipation.

I don't think it was slow, more of a slow build getting to know the different characters .After all they were supposedly just on a 'chill out ' break in the sun... until the shocking end to the first episode. I think it will definitely pick up speed next week as they try to dispose of Aldo!!!

As for the language...it was past the watershed and I thought the acting was realistic and epitomised typical behaviour of 'lads on tour'. And Aldo was being so contentious he deserved to be called what they called him!

I did read on several reviews that the first episode was very much getting to know the characters and laying down the background of the story so I was not surprised that it started slowly - but what an end to the first episode...certainly I will tune in again next week to find out how it developes.

As for the beach where they dumped the boat - I thought it looked like cala figuera and i thought the villa could be in the CSV valley.

I heard a rumour they are trying for planning permission right around where the puppys nose and right ear are.

Bella - funny you should mention this. My husband heard something along these lines a couple of weeks ago via his architect contacts. Brushed it aside as just didn't want to believe it. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

GG - I wonder if they cut and pasted some of the scenes. Perhaps the lovely pool belonged to another property and some of the internal filming was done elsewhere and not necessarily in a villa. Just a thought!

The Puppy looks just like my little cocker spaniel. Nature produces such lovely things to look at but man can produce ghastly eyesores in comparison. Even the best of architects could not keep the beauty of that site. My husband is working this evening so I'm not able to confirm the actual area he heard was to be developed. I do remember the words wind turbine being mentioned too but that was his idea of a joke and winding me up! - Bring back Katie and Kerry - quick!

It was our estate agent friend - sorry eleanor, there are a couple who are goodies - who mentioned that there had been interest by builders in the area past Malpas. He didn't actually mention the puppy of course, I may have just taken an educated guess at the area!

Yes I think you maybe right as my husband said it was around the Malpas area. There are already villas being built in the area and some have been sold. We actually went to view some land there a few years back but decided we didn't like it as it was a little off the track. I think there were certainly ideas to build the area up with development a few years back but of course that was when people were buying!

I don't think there were any boring bits, sws (well, apart from the adverts!). I was going to let the children watch it, but after watching it with hubby, I don't think so!

Yes back on topic, finally watched it yesterday albeit at 12x speed, except the views of cause, although not much was shown, usual thing, the film for weeks and just show a few minutes.
I think the place they are staying is on the way to CSV, more like one of the country places on the left as you drive in, shots of them walking through the country was on the Pollensa - CSV walk in the hills, and the calas was Boquer, with the old pines that have been washed up on the beach, although the shot looking at them coming in on the boat may have been the next bay around, and of cause the view coming down the hill from Formentor, thats what I think, hopefully more of the countryside next time.

We were talking about the views used in the filming including that of Debz puppy!

I do think we need to remember with any filming there is a 'cut and paste' procedure. Therefore more than one area could have been filmed and put together to produce the scene. Some of the views or properties may not actually exist in real life but may be a mixture of different takes.
Its nice to watch and try to spot though and some of the views are of course fantastic - real or not.
