Majorca shot Sky1 series to be remade in the States
Palma.—While preparations are already underway for a third series of Sky 1’s hit series Mad Dogs to be shot on the island this summer, a US remake of the award-winning series is reportedly in the works.

The original Mad Dogs starred John Simm, Marc Warren, Max Beesley and Philip Glenister as four middle-aged friends who take a holiday here to Majorca but find themselves drawn into a world of crime and corruption.

In fact, not only is the series being filmed here, it is actually set here and Mad Dogs has enjoyed massive global success giving Majorca plenty of promotion. The third series is expected to be shot this summer and local production company, Palma Pictures, is expected to facilitate again.

The Council of Majorca, which invested in series one, has not got any money to pump into series three.

Max Beesley has just tweeted that they start filming Mad Dogs 4 in Capetown in April

Can't help hoping they eventually bring the boys back to PP

Would be good if there is a Mad Dogs 4 but I can't find that tweet. Perhaps deleted?

On my timeline all I can see is Max confirm a couple of times that Mad Dogs 3 will finally air on Sky in April. There's also a separate tweet where he mentions that he's in Cape Town for six weeks from 28 January - but without an express reference to Mad Dogs.

Was that the most crazy ending ? Not even sure what they were thinking of ending it like that, feel like we have wasted hours/ years watching what at times was a great program only for the writers to obviously run out of ideason how to end it. So went to the pub for several hours( or took some kind of hallucinogenic) came back and wrote whatever came to mind in their drunken stupor so disappointed

I agree fil, very disappointing. They should have just shot them and finished it there. The story line has been far fetched ever since the first series, I only watched it because of the actors in it, and of course the snippets of Mallorca.

Well the ending was certainly surreal ...... I assume they all got shot on the Bach and the stuff after that was just a representation of Baxter's thoughts as he heard each of his friends get shot and then was himself shot.

Life flashing past him; all Passing into limbo together (car off the bridge ) and himself being under the tiny Blair mask was the final realisation that he brought it all on himself when he took the money from the villa

Either the above or the script writers didn't have a clue how to end it so make it as Barry as possible so that people continued to talk about it even after it ended

Anyway the upside is that we got to see lots of shots of places we love on the TV and 4 great actors loved their time in PP with Max Beesley and John Simm regularly recommending PP to people as a great holiday location via twitter.
