The boys are back in town so it's a fun-filled night of lager, curry and footy ahead of us. We kick off early at 7 p.m. at Mirch Massala ( next to Trio's). Opened last August with good reviews by some but for some reason have never found it open much over the winter season.

We settle the wags down on their table with drinks and poppadums , they happily talk away about flopsie bunnies and kitty witties whilst we discuss serious matters of state importance like why does Christiano suffer twice the gravitational pull of us mere mortals ? and will Arsenal's zonal marking be able to cope with Wayne's parabolic running ?

The food appears after a while and we are not disappointed. Freshly cooked curries , nice pilau rice and nans cooked to perfection. Only criticism I would make, and it appears prevalent to all curry houses here, is the colour of the curries. They all look like pots of day-glow paint ( bright reds and yellows ). God knows what e numbers they are using but you feel you should be wearing your Raybans. However it would be churlish to be too critical because the underlying taste of the food is pretty good.

Will definitely return again as a good addition to the Indian choice here.

Onto JKs Sportsbar for the match, pretty full and great on atmosphere with both big screens dedicated to the big match. Fergie's face the colour of BLTs curry a few times but great fun.

Here's to next week at the Emirates !!!

Another great review Bonyslad, this is the only Indian in the port that we haven't tried yet. So far we have not been overly impressed, the food just seems to have something missing ( suppose it's because we are used to having fresh spices, bits of stick and other stuff in our curries back in the UK).
The service in Kashmir was shocking even though there were only 4 people in on the night we went , so we will try Mirch Massala one day.;)
